Hello everyone.

I had a simple question about Resident Evil 5; Will it be released on PC as well? EVER? Because I dont own any of the consoles but I have gaming PC which buy games on, and Resident Evil 4 is still one of my favorite games ever (thought the PC port was worst of all versions) and it would be shame to not be able to play RE5, since buying a console for one game is something Id rather not do. Ive been waiting for this game since I saw the first trailer but Ive not heard Capcom mention anything about a PC version, not even a simple yes or no.

If anyone would be able to answer my question Id be really happy :)

I read a while ago that a PC version is not a priority due to the hight piracey rate of DMC4 and Lost Planet.
But a PC version was never fully ruled out.

I see if i can find the article.

Edit

resident evil 5 - Capcom uncertain over Resi 5 PC

Capcoms Resident Evil 5 has been heavily rumoured for release on PC, but according to Capcom corporate officer Christian Svensson the decision to bring the game to PC is still to be made.

I know that Inafune-san and I are both huge proponents of the PC platform and Capcom is an active participant in the PC Gaming Alliance. We do believe in the future of the platform and that contrary to what retail data shows, it is growing, Svensson told IGN. Our rosy prognostications aside, somewhere the P&Ls of Capcom Japans outings on the platform are going to come up and they are likely to have a bearing on the decision making process for future titles. Thats my longwinded way of saying stay tuned because its not clear yet.

Given that Capcom has already released Lost Planet and Devil May Cry 4 on PC it seemed likely that wed see a PC version of Resident Evil 5 at some point, but perhaps the situation with PC piracy and the number of illegal downloads of Devil May Cry 4 has had a negative effect on Capcoms view of the PC.

I didnt know Devil May Cry 4 got pirated so badly, I bought the game though it did take me couple weeks to find it since none of the gamestores seemed even know about a PC version, finally I had to order it from an online store. I dont know if it was simply badly marketed but it was pretty rare in any case.

I understand some developers are getting tired of piracy and wont release some of the games on PC as a penalty which is the reason I really hate pirates more than anything, they are hurting to the whole platform. Over time I slowly learned to accept that some games wont simply make it to the PC, but damn... of all those games I had really hoped Resident Evil 5 would not fall into that category, specially after the whole Capcom goes multiplatform news recently.

Well, thanks anyway... Ill just have to wait and see how their decision turns out.
