View Full Version : Getting RE2 in Germany?
Hi there!
Im trying to get RE2, which seems to be a tough mission in Germany. Id like to get either the PS or GC version, preferably the GC one. The only source I found so far was an import mailorder located in Austria, but they still charge 50 Euro, when Im rather willing to pay 20 Euro.
Anyone have an idea/source for me?
Greetings,
Manuel
http://www.play.com/Games/GameCube/4-/116382/Resident-Evil-2/Product.html ?28.16 cheapest I could find it but still way cheaper than the ?50 you have seen.
they deliver to europe
other than that I can keep an eye out here in the UK normally pick it up for around œ10 which is arround ?13 + P&P total cost around ?18.
Thanks Spike, that is a very good info and also a cool offer. I can wait for another month or two before buying from play.com, so should you possibly ran accross a 10 pound copy of RE2 for the Cube these days, Id be very happy if you could buy it for me :)
i will keep an eye out for you :)
maybe on ebay for the GC? normally is this possible for 20 bucks
Maybe he is like me as I dont like ebay.
I actually thought that it was impossible, since german eBay doesnt allow the trading of Resident Evil because it got an 18+ rating here. And I thought being from Germany I wasnt able to register an account on eBay UK. Intersting enough though, using my german account I just managed to log in on ebay.co.uk without any problem, so it shouldnt be a problem getting a copy there :)
Thanks again guys, I think I can go this route!

Getttin Resident Evil 2 in germany is as easy as it sounds.... ofcourse u cant buy it in a MediaMarkt or Saturn cause the game ( sorry for the german dunno the english word for it ) is Indiziert. Indizierte games r not allowed for selling in the public. You can buy RE2 easily at a gameshop, specialized at games, like Gamesgarden or Gamestop. I doubt they will have it tho, its too old. Good luck m8
I got my copy of Remake at a Gamestop, true. And you can get Zero as well. Re2/3/Veronica for the Cube didnt ever officially come out in Germany though and I dont think gamestop does any import business. So unless they get a used copy from someone, they most likely wont have it there. Easiest of the three to get is RE3 since that one surprisingly got a rating of 16, so it is available on German eBay. 2 and Veronica are hardest to get, I think unless you run into one at a flea market importing is your only chance.
Dead Rising is actually a step worse. It didnt even get an 18+ rating, so trading it within Germany is generally illegal. At least plain owning it isnt illegal, so imports from European neighbours are a workaround again.
did not realsie it was that bad getting these games in germany.
Its borderline censorship.

Games which dont get a rating, selling is still legal. U r allowed to sell EU imports when the game is only indiziert, if its Beschlagnahmt , u may not sell it. ( Sorry for the german again ) For example, The Darkness german version is very softened, u cant eat hearts, u eat souls instead etc, no gore anymore, no executions etc.... U r allowed to sell the EU imports, but u r not allowed to sell the US version. But its not illegal to posses any of these for ur own use. For RE2, if u cant find it in Gamestop, try Gamesgarden or any other gameshop, u probably got one in ur city or the cities near urs. And my last words go to all germans, like myself, always get the EU import if u can, or the US, it contains german language 99%, the US not always but very often too. US releases r earlier than EU, its uncut, and its mostly cheaper cause of the ? > $ .

That s why the only game I bought in germany recently was Okami (in half a year!).
And Silentkiller, you can at least use Babelfish translations for the German words, that should be more or less acurate.
This would be indicated for indiziert and seized for beschlagnahmt.
By the way I thought I saw Code Veronica X in a shop, but that was some time ago. Now I regret that I didn t buy it back then...

Well, exactly what happened with Dead Rising. The USK refusal of an 18+ rating for it first made a BPjM indexing possible and then it got banned:
