And yet, another game joins the installations..... its kinda sad that games need that much of space on the HDD, most of u have a 40 or 60 GB, some even only 20. I think its not right....
20GB never came to europe :P
Yes it is anoying but what do you want games that take forever to load or a mandatory install to reduse loading times ect.
I had to upgrade my HDD from 60GB to 160GB a while ago as I was having to delete mandatary game installs too I was still playing to instal yet anther game.

Ye the u need to buy a new HDD very soon for the ps3, almost every good game requires installation, MGS4, Bioshock, Gran Turismo 5 will take around 8 GB ( just assuming, Prologue needs around 6GB, so GT5 will need more i think ), its a bit annoying. Sony will release a 160 GB model for 449? in europe, thats good for people who want to buy the PS3, but for people like us, we will need to buy a new HDD, transfering savegames etc, annoying XD.
The thing about MGS4 is that when a new chapter is installed, the previous chapter is deleted, meaning that the next time you play the game, you need to re-install the previous chapters, annoying.
With one straight forward 4GB install for Bioshock, would save time (in the long run) and would be less annoying (from my perspective anyway).

I have already replaced my 60GB HDD with a 160GBHDD

I dont mind these installs, and when I play a game I dont just play it for 1 day, 5 - 7 installed games at a time is fine, as far as I am concerned.

True but a 40GB wont handle 5 to 7 instals if those instals are above 5GB indervidualy
60GB would also strugle depending on the games.
But like i have said its anoying but i would rather have a instal over longer load times ect.
I never know when i feel like returning to a game so i dont delete the install unless ive completed the game and sold it.

5 to 7 is rather accurate. How many games significantly above 5 GB are there?

MGS 4 5GB to 7GB depending on DLC and MGO Patch
GT5 pro 6 GB+
Everbodys World Tour over 5GB with DLC
Unreal 3 with DLC over 5GB
Those are just of the top of my head.
Then Demos to download and try
it all takes space
how many games over 5GB dont know dont own all games so i cant be certain so I can only go on what I have.
5 to 7 is only your preference not others.
With all the stuff on PSN 40 and 60GB are way to small.
I have lots of stuff downloaded along with games instalations which is why 60GB is pointles. Yes my opinion but it also shared by many other active PSN users.
Then Home thats going to take a fair chunk of HDD space as well.
Double post sorry
PS3 BioShock demo on October 2
Will be released worldwide on the PlayStation Network.
2K Games has announced, via the Cult of Rapture website, that a playable demo of BioShock is to be released worldwide for PS3 on October 2.
According to 2K the demo will be available worldwide, meaning European PS3 gamers wont be left wanting come October 2. Theres no info on exactly what the demo will include, but were assuming itll be something similar to that released for Xbox 360 - the games opening.
BioShock is scheduled for release across North America on October 21, followed by Europe a few days later on October 24.

So what. 5 times 6.
Im actually not suprised by it, quite a few have 5GB installs, its just a minor annoyance for me since I have a 40GB console.

what about them.
I was having to delete installs of games befor i finisehd them until I had to upgrade my own HDD.
Which means I had to reinstall them to cary on playing them.
Overall I dont mind instals as it does help reduce loading times but a bigger HDD should have been avalible with the ps3 from the start.
Like i say Its my opinion that 60GB is to small and for me and many others it is
I have arround 35GB downloaded of the PSN in what 18 months.
So whats your point? You are just beng a pain to make this debate strecth out for no real reasion.
You have you opinion and I have mine so why not leave it at that?
