Project Origin now F.E.A.R. 2

The sequel to F.E.A.R. now has the name to match.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has announced it has secured the rights to the F.E.A.R. name and in turn has re-titled Project Origin, F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin.

The name addition builds upon the strong game recognition, which we will extend as we move forward reinventing the F.E.A.R. brand, said Samantha Ryan, Senior Vice President, Production and Development, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin will continue the legacy of the original F.E.A.R. game with story and combat while adding new twists, gameplay and graphics to expand the players experience.

In F.E.A.R. 2 Alma, a girl with immense power and a thirst for revenge, has unleashed her wrath upon the city of Auburn and thrown it into chaos. A Special Forces squad must combat enemy forces and the supernatural as they struggle to find a way to stop Alma and uncover the mysterious forces working against them before its too late.

F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin is in development for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC and is scheduled for release across Europe on February 13, 2009

You should perhaps start citing the source you have repeatedly quoted from.

I dont get what this topic is about... is it just about that the developers changed the name ? If yes, its true. If not, my mistake. I dont like Fear, so i wont buy this one, and u shouldnt really argue about a games name actually, the game is the same :d

Its not just a name change.
Project Origin was being made befor Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment bought the F.E.A.R rights but now they have done that they changed the name of a game that was already in development befor they got the rights.

Wasnt arguing

777 and i was not on about the name of the game at all :s

I enjoyed F.E.A.R. quite a lot. However I find the name Project Origin a lot more stylish than the former and current title. Makes sense from a marketing point of view, of course.

I thought the name was quite cheap, F.E.A.R. First Encounter Assault Recon, just because the first letter of each word spells FEAR, they think they have done something clever.

Hehe, I share your point of view.
