Takahashi quotes a Microsoft engineer who raised the issue of hardware reliability in August of 2005, months before the systems November launch. At the time, 68 of every 100 Xbox 360s made by Microsofts Chinese manufacturing partners were coming off the line nonfunctional. Worse still, when the first batch of the systems three-core CPUs rolled off the line, only 16 percent worked.

hey guys I have bougt my 360 on 12/01/2008 with an HDMI Connector Premium Machine (not Elite) and 20 GB HD.

I know the Xenon 360s were the ones with the most RROD problem but they hadnt an HDMI port, and I do well; so in this case: do I have a Zephyr or Falcon 360 console? and how do I check my lot number of my console?

According to MS, if you look into the side of your 360, not the side with the hard drive, the other side, you should be able to see a Heat Sink.

If youre Heat Sink has a Copper Heat Pipe on it and you have HDMI, you have a Zephyr, if you dont have the Copper Heat Pipe, you have a Falcon.

HDMI with Copper Heat Pipe = Zephyr.

HDMI without Copper Heat Pipe = Falcon.

No HDMI with Copper Heat Pipe = Xenon.
