View Full Version : Unreal Engine for free!
Great news if you're serious about games development. Unreal Development Kit was just made free!
Although the application is pretty advanced and a bit techy for the average Joe, it's definitively worth playing around with, anyway. There are vast amounts of tutorials and resources online that should help you, and at least give you a kick start.

PS: There might be a couple of people in the forum wanting to make a game, already. Maybe you could join forces and develop something together as a team? Maybe even a game for the CE community! [non commercial, of course]
I always wanted to get into game development, but found it hard to find tools that are free to use. This could be a way in, but I probably won't give it a proper looking at until Chistmas holiday or something. Either way, I doubt it'll be much benefit to me.

That is pretty awesome. However, I have no skill or knowledge about coding, C++, or anything like that.
I'm pretty artistic, and can do most things if they need an artistic mind behind them, but with something like this, I feel if you have no basic knowledge of programming, and haven't studied anything on the same grounds as this in college or uni, then there's not much point trying to start.
Would be cool though, if the whole community made a game together, and then it took off and everything. :p
I reserve a space for myself to do the artwork. XD
Well, I don't really have time for it at the moment. I guess that's what I've ever wanted - back then (I used to play around with the Unreal Editors ages ago ...), but if it shall so ever happen that I get a quite fair look on it, and didn't notice anione here taking that chance - hmm... I'll see what I can move. But I definately lack the artistic energy for it.:flamesangry:
