View Full Version : Oblivion GOTY edition 360 - Question

If i buy this version, will i have to play the whole game again, or will i be able to start from where my character is now...but have KotN and SI unlocked?
I know its a bit of a petty question...but i just want to know, because i want the extra quests, etc...but i also want them on disc, rather than downloaded.
If anybody can answer, thatd be great.
According to a friend of mine, youll have to start the game all over again since its basically another game, even though its not... (confusing, no?)
So, if you already spent countless hours in playing Oblivion and dont want them to go to waste, it might be better to just download the shivering isles expansion from the marketplace.
I think that also makes it a cheaper solution, though I have no clue what the GOTYE is priced in your country...
yep Jarlino is right, a freind made the same mistake with Oblivian GOTY E and the Lost Planet C E on the 360.

Heres the next question then...
Would i get another 1000 GamerPoints for it, or would that class itself as the same game??
My problem with downloadable content is not having a physical copy of it...
EDIT:
I just heard from someone that has the PS3 version that he was able to use his old save data...
On the 360 GOTY E is totaly seperate so yes you would get all the acheiments again but the GOTY E has 1200 or 1250G
The PS3 GOTY version came out not long after the original version but if it uses the same save system for both i cant tell you but the game does require a instal so I cant see how you can use the save vice versa as the GOTY edition will need more room as it the bigger game unles they give you the option to convert the save. Not played it on ps3 so i cant realy conform this either way.

Argos has it brand new for about œ25, just so you dont make the same mistake I did, I bought it for œ30 pre-owned.:dead:

Bleh, its not in the catalogue any more, I just checked the website and its only the PS3 edition.
