Im currently playing through hard mode as vega, im facing zangief and he's using approxamatly 4 moves
that green thing
double lariat
pile driver
the other pile driver
and its the most frustrating thing ive come across in this game
Does it get worse
yeah. seth isn't that bad really. not when compared to bosses like rugal in kof or the boss in MVC2. zangief can be so annoying. all his other moves can be easily countered except that stupid pile driver. it isnt blockable, does a ton of damage and he can do it even if he's being attacked. my step son can even come close to beating me with him now. i hope that move gets toned down in SSFIV

The gief match is all about him closing the distance dont let him, yeah it gets worse when you have to face him online in g1
that's all very well and good but you have to hit him at some point and smacking him in the face doesn't interupt him from pile drivering you or doing that green hand thing. you dont always have time to land a kick and jump away before he grabs you.

I dont know who you main so its difficult to tell you how to play him. Chun (my main) has her standing hardkick that has a huge amount of range goes through the non start up frames of the lariat and keeps him at a distance the green hand isnt safe on block or using chun a nutral j.hk when you think its coming.
Go to shoryuken.com aln look up the thread for your main and find out your chars options knowing is half the battle
I usually use ken or chun li. gief has a habit of grabing me before my kick has finished.

go into the training room and find your range with the standing hk if your getting thrown out of it your way to close that thing has almost half screen range. and is also good in the earley stages of there jump.
