I just had bought Resident Evil Re-birth on release on the gamecube.
Having played it a while i thought i would take it to up stairs to play in bed as i was amazed at how it had changed and struggled to put it down.
Once set up and continuing from my save point i must have been playing for about an hour from my save.
I was in the new part of the manson when i was swaping keys in this stone when a earth quake hit which I then stop playing as i though the old mine safts under the house were collapsing, which in turn led me being crushed and slice to death in the game but a statue with blades.
Scared the living daylights out of me and added a lot more horror to the game than i realy needed.

Later fond out the earth quake was in dudley, not a big one but with mine shafts under the house it was very scary.

Dont know if this counts as it was a mixture of the game and earth quake that scared me to death well allmost.

I think, for me, that would have to have been in Silent Hill 2. Now, the Silent Hill series is scary...but not the scariest. Forbidden Siren 1 and Project Zero cover that ground quite easily, but both them have scared me in the way that they have scared everybody else...normally.

With Silent Hill 2 though, i had the scariest moment...also the most embaressing moment.

In the Toluca Prison section, there is a small squared off area where they used to do hangings. I had been playing this game for hours, starting to get a bit over confident with myself, happily blowing away any enemy that came my way (once youve seen one straight jacket enemy, youve seen them all), so when i entered the squared off area i was shocked the hear the sound of several large things running towards me, very noisily.

I let out a small squeal and turned James around and left the area. I gathered my courage up and re-entered the area, having equipped my most powerful weapon (hunting rifle).

Whilst shouting and screaming (in real life) and forced James to run around the entire area, searching for these mysterious creatures...only to find that the entire area empty and was devoid of both life and unlife, and the noise was literally just that...a noise.

That was, by far, my scariest gaming moment.

It isnt exactly Capcoms fault that you dont have a 360, and it is a given that you need a 360 to use a code that gets you a free thing from XBLA.

Also, i expect theyll do a comp-etition for a PS3 version if a PS3 version is made available.

A competition cannot cater to everybody that joins this forum, otherwise Capcom will have to just stick to giving out T-shirts...and i only want the 1 T-shirt.

I dont really have a scary story...though I really enjoyed the BC: rearmed trial, and I definitely want to have a shot at this contest. xD
So like...

I like to create a good mood to play my horror games...
So when I played Project zero about 6 months ago, I played it with the lights out, and only after 11 pm.
For those who dont know, the game revolves around taking pictures, which show various ghosts and otherworldy beings...
So like...everything was going well.. until and in-game moan sounded loud through the speakers.
A ghostly woman with eyes sewed shut had taken a hold of my character. As I struggled to free the helpless girl, lightning suddenly struck in the garden, frying our garden gnome. As if that wasnt bad enough, because of the shock, I dropped the controller and stared through the window to see the fried gnome...when I turned back, I bumped into my closet, causing a bundle of photos to fall off and spread all over the floor.

Now, I dont know if you consider it scary or not, or just consider me a sissy , but when youre playing a horror story which involves taking pictures of dead things...and theres a picture of the garden gnome which just melted, right in front of the tv.... Hoshit!

That was enough to send shivers down my spine, and have me quit playing the whole game altogether.
I sold it before I ever had a chance to become manly enough to play it again.. -_-

Not being much of a horror-game fan, I always avoided the genre. When Resident Evil 4 came out and the rest of the world was loving it, I avoided the game and just kept on playing my old games.

Anyway, two months later a group of friends came over to sleep over for the next 3 weeks, my parents being on vacation and all. They kept trying to convince me to play, so I cracked eventually. It was 2 AM and I booted up the game, (We messed up our sleeping patterns pretty bad, stating up untill 6 AM every night.) started playing and eventually figured it wasnt so bad. Sure, it had hordes of zombies jumping at me. But I knew where theyd come from most of the time and I was armed with some pretty heavy firepower, so it felt more like an action game.

As I was playing I didnt notice most of my friends leaving the room, but I noticed being alone all of a sudden after having played for about two hours. Ironically, the wind started blowing harder and the house started to crack, while Resident Evil 4s zombies hadnt shown up for a while, making the suspense grow. Then, I suddenly heard someone knock on the window.

Yeah, I freaked out. I figured Id try to ignore it, seeing my friends were probably upstairs and would hear the doorbell if someone actually wanted to get in. But the bell didnt ring and nobody went down. I kept hearing the knocking though, with shorter intervals each time. I stood up, decided to open the curtain and then stared right in the face of one of my friends screaming at me, his arms raised up in the air.

Since then, Im not sure if I should love him for pulling such an awesome prank, or hate him for scaring me like that.
