It should be impossible to delete a post completely. Especially if it was not deleted by the person who posted it.
In that case there should also be a message to the author of the deleted post.
Allow me to disagree, Seth. It is common practice and clearly stated by Chompy in the forum rules youve accepted
The Capcom Europe Forum Administrators and the moderators appointed by them reserve the right to edit or delete any and all content of the message board.

A message to the author would still be possible, right? You could have this automatically generated too, to keep the mods from having too much work.
By impossible to delete a post competely I only meant that there should be some note that there was a post there once. An empty post stating deleted or something like this.

The automatically generated message may be a good idea as such.
As for empty posts, that would kind of defeat (part of) the purpose of deleting posts in quite a few specific cases. Also, what would the benefit(s) be?

For example I would at least have some proof that I posted something in RE Q&A.
I just remembered the ive got wood posts by C4RNIF3X however, in that case it would indeed be a bad idea, so forget about that one.
Im sorry, Im a bit confused about the keeping proof of posting something, could you please clarify?

It s just that I ve been referring to a post that has already been deleted. It would be useful to at least have some proof of this post to show I m not making things up. Read the Discuss topic of the Resident Evil - QA and you should understand what I m talking about.

Huh? Its only proof that you posted something. Couldve been 2, a single sentence, a picture - anything really. The only thing you could refer to is the fact that you posted. Which rarely (ever?) is the point.
A: I posted in topic X (if you dont believe it, theres an empty post there!)
B: Yeah. Great. So what?

Kinda on topic but not. I swear some of my posts have been disappearing lately. If they are being deleted it would be nice to know. I agree with Seth though. If you left just the posters name at the side and removed the text from their post it would avoid confusion and make certain posts seem more relevent.

It s better than absolutely nothing. I can t say I want that no post can be deleted at all. after all.
