The organisers of Grimm Up North (Manchester 30th Oct to 1st Nov www.grimmfest.co.uk (http://www.grimmfest.co.uk) ) have kindly given us some special prizes for you, it's compo time! :D
Create a short story with the cubees you can download from our site (http://www.capcom-europe.com/downloads), take pics and post them here for your chance to win:
1st prize - A pair of tickets for the Gala Screening and after party of the Descent 2 + signed posters
2nd prize - 1 day pass for each day of the festival
3rd prize - 1 box set of Coffin Joe Collection
Deadline for submissions is 11.59pm on Sun 25th Oct

Awww, it's not something I'd be able to get to, but I wish everyone who enters good luck! :)
I still think a create your own cubee competition would be awesome. :D
ill take part since im BORED OUT OF MY MIND!, but i do not wish to recieve any prizes, if i get first second or third.
tickets won't be of any use to me as i don't think i can make it. :(
I don't think I could do it in 5 days. If we had the half term then I could but...
I might participate, but just for fun :)

I might join in for fun too depending on how much Uni charges for colour printing.The black and white has gone up to 8p so I can imagine the 50p or 1 pound per colour page has increased too... :P
Spent the afternoon cutting cubees, I'll think of the plot tonight (while I'm asleep :D).
Anyone finished their story yet?
Dont have time to do it, i dont think most have it either, so Joao looks like youre gonna win all the prizes! lol

claire is the hardest? goood. i just did a zombie in about 1 hour so maybe you're right or im getting better. tell me if i should do leon, time is running out and my hands are killing me but a good story NEEDS leon.
Yes, it needs Leon. I haven't cut him, my story features Chris, Claire, and the zombies. Expect one hour of cutting ;)
When I say Claire is more difficult is just because you have to cut two extra items: her hair, and her knife. Both Chris and Leon have one extra item, their weapon. Zombies have no extra content, so they are the easiest to cut.
Story written and photographed, I'm now in the final production. I felt like a child again, picking up my old crayons :D
Claire and Chris Redfield were sitting home after the last zombie fight, when they realized that they didn't have vacations in a very long time. After a very short discussion, they decided heading to Europe, to the sunny Algarve in Portugal.
They found a very nice hotel in the Internet, and flight to there. After leaving the luggage in in the room, they headed to the beach.
They had been catching sun and listening nothing than the waves hitting the sand for over an hour, when Claire starts listening someone moving right next to her. She moves her body to allow her to look to the place where the noise is coming, and she sees what appears to be a Zombie. "No way, a Zombie, in here? How can that be possible, how did the T-virus get in here?!".
Thinking that she's dreaming, she rubs her eyes just to realize that there are two zombies looking at her, and murmuring something she doesn't understand.
Immediately she gets up and pulls Chris, this movement causes the zombies to step back. Chris was sleeping, and the first thing he sees is a zombie looking at him, bringing the horrible memories of Raccoon City and the horrible mutations caused by the virus. After about 5 seconds of inertia, Chris and Claire step back towards the water, as the Zombies continue to whisper something unintelligible.
Chris recovers from the initial shock, and starts looking for his weapon. With his brain still not 100%, he takes a while to realize that it isn't with him. He could kill the zombies in 2 seconds with his excellent aiming capabilities, but firearms are not allowed in air-planes and he had to leave his at home.
"I don't have my weapon with me" -- he says to Claire.
"Ok, then just run" -- she replies.
They start running, with the zombies following them. Chris noticed that they were not as slow as usual, "they must have been infected with a new virus variant". After a few minutes of running, they arrive at the end of the beach, with a very tall stone wall. They only notice it too late, now there's no room for escaping somewhere else. They turn around and decide to face the zombies.
Chris thinks: "Come on, I've faced hundreds of guys like you, some of them with just a knife, why Am I running away from just two of you?" Of course deep inside Chris knew that he ran away because this time he couldn't count with his knife. That was when Claire remembered that inside her bag she had a knife.
"Come on, I'm waiting for you" -- she says whilst withdrawing the knife.
The zombies immediately stop, and one of them talks in simple English:
"Oh, sorry I didn't realized you were not from here. We are just looking for the party of Mr. Ronaldo, since you were dressed like that on the beach we thought you were also part of the invitees. Sorry if we scared you."
After a minute of silence, Claire and Chris looked at each other: "We definitely need some vacations."
Claire turns her head towards the normal human beings just dressed as zombies for a party: "do you think Mr. Ronaldo would mind if we join the party?"
Thus, Chris and Claire join the party and spend a very nice evening drinking and talking.

I think I will stick with one zombie and maybe Clarie and will make a comic "how a human behave, how a zombie behave."
Story will be like this:
Okay how does a human and a zombie acts in the same situation?
When a human wakes up and realize its late to the job, it says: "IM LATE!"
When a Zombie wakes up and realize its late to the job, it says: "No work, no brains"
When a human has to pay bills, it says: "I have to cut down my budget".
When a Zombie has to pay bills, it says: "Brains are expensive, need to cut down."
When a human writes a letter to its parents, it writes "Dearly beloved parents".
When a human writes a letter to its parents, with some blood dripping, it writes "my brains brain."
And finally, when a human encounter with a zombie it says: "go away!"
When a zombie encounter with a human it says: "brains".
Right, since none of you seem to be able to enjoy the tickets to the festival, I'd say that we get a winner for the box set and give the tickets to someone who can go to Manchester. Agreed?

My idea was to make a very fast giveaway if I got the ticket. I'm ok with both solutions :rolleyes:
ya a really fast giveaway session would be nice, but i think draconacticus won it hands down. that is, if we are holding a giveaway session. anyways it's Tenebra's decicion.

i think the first one who posts here asking for a ticket gets it, just like Draconacticus did
in this way, we make 2 guys happy, we feel good human beings and we'll wait for Tenebra to say who won the box set :D is it ok?

If I am lucky enough to win a prize (pwetty pwease with sugar on top and a cherry and a ribbon and everything?) my preference would be for prize number 2, day pass to the festival (especially the saturday :)). I've picked up a bit of a cold and probably wouldn't be able to enjoy the gala event (it's today right?) to the max because I feel a bit grotty. I'm sure the cast and crew at the after party wouldn't appreciate me coughing over them :P
The ribbon won it for you, the pass is yours :)
Anybody wants the invites for the Gala? It's indeed tonight at 8pm, I'll need a fast wave, please.
