I got this game 3 days ago tryed everything ! but stil lcant fix it I need some big help !
tryed dx10 and dx9 dont work that same error :(

I think its a problem of drivers
Hi HaKaShi, sorry to her about your problem.
It doesnt seem to be something obvious, your sound driver is really really old though, try to update it, as well as your video driver, it might have not installed properly. Try also uninstalling and reinstalling the game again. Please let us know how you get on.

because xp doesnt run dx 10.1
is your pc non registor errors free?
is your disk checked with checkdsk.exe?
is defragmentation there for optimal performance?
try maybe registry mechanic? http://www.pctools.com/registry-mechanic/
not any virus malware spyware on your computer?
is your gamepad fully updated?
have you correctly installed the game?
disk cleaner running?
You have DirectX 10 installed in Windows XP, thats your problem. This is an unofficial version of DirectX 10 which is hacked to install on XP so you have created the problem yourself. Uninstall DirectX 10 and install DirectX 9.0c from the link in Megamans post. The DX9 game will run after this. Your graphics card isnt even capable of DX10 so why you have installed this is beyond me! :d
DX has nothing to do with that I reinstalled my windows and got everything original and latest only cant find the sound driver and I think its because of it !
BeoWolf, Assassins creed these 2 games give me that same stupid error ! other games works perfect i think its because of sound driver like the admin told I will try to find some update and if still wont work then something is wrong :(
EDIT: just got all latest drivers and it still wont work !!! WTF is the problem !!! I just CANT GET IT !!!
test everything that I can do ! update everything but still that same error !!! I know that more ppl have this error I serched for help but only what I found is reports about this error !

Back Up your computer on a flash disk with minusly 8GB on the flash memory.
set your boot device in your bios to first to the DVD drive D station
take you original CD from windows XP and Reformatte your computer because the problem is I think something causing by a third party program who have nothing to do with DMC4 PC edition but it effects your game.
download the most up to date drivers from your NVidia Sound Blaster and download it on your flash disk.
reformat your computer with XP from the beginning.
than update if everything is done your GC and Blaster update 9.0c to the latest state. update your 360 or other gamepad with the latest drivers.
install your every program you use maybe office 2007 for example. install your antivirus and firewall install registry mechanic. install in hardware your Plug and Play monitor.
intstall then the game again, update your antivirus and everything else to the most up to date state. run registry mechanic, disk cleaner and defragmentation!
and if you do this than it MUST work.

I have everything what you told ! I cant get sound driver update only found 2002 and cant find anymore !

my diver was 2001 and I serched for latest updates and only found 2002 -_- ....

it can off course be that there are not being programmed updates to your live card eh? that could be the problem... .
and with your xp cd and graphics drivers?
I think that my sound card is prity old and theres no more updates for it :(
all my other divers are up tu date everything is update to latest versions just dont know what else could it be :(
