This is a long shot, but maybe someone can help:

I'm having trouble with my setup.
I have:
O Windows 7 running media center
O Xbox 360 and wireless adaptor
O WRTG54 Netgear Wireless router
O Linsys Wireless router

The netgear was bought as a more powerful replacement to the netgear, which would sometimes flake out for no reason. The netgear worked straight up, and was more stable, until it started becomeing EVEN WORSE.
The Netgear stopped giving out signal intermittently, to all devices. Checking with my PSP, I could see that when it rebooted, the signal would be there and then drop in a few seconds.
My girlfriend's laptop would sometimes work for a bit, sometimes not.

So I plugged the linksys back in, and the netgear into one of the lan ports of the linksys. Now the Xbox gets signal, but can't find The media center PC (which is plugged into the linksys).

This is driving me nuts; all I want it to do is work and be stable.

I've pre-ordered Windows, so I'll have the release edition soon and may do a clean install.

Have you tried a FULL router re-set?

On the back is a reset button that you need to press with a needle or pin.

This will take away any encryption you may have so you will need to set up a secure net work.

Plugging the routers into each other you will get problems as they are not designed to do that, especially when they are different makes as you could end up with various NAT problems.

Hi soop

Regarding the signal loss, I can point the interference from neighbouring networks the cause of intermittent signal. To fix that you must scan the other networks to see which channel they operate, and them switch yours to a free channel (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_WLAN_channels#2.4.C2.A0GHz_.28802.11b.2Fg. 2Fn.29).

Sorry if this doesn't help much, but my net sometimes goes down randomly, and says the connection is excellent when it isn't even working.

This can sometimes cause my media server to go wrong, but it's just a case of clicking "Restart Sharing". I use TVersity.

At the very worst, it's usually down to your router, and if it persists, you may have to set it all up again. My dad had to. :(

Anyway, I know you have different gear to me, but hopefully this will help you a bit, at least. Good luck! :)

This is a fantastic idea. There are several routers, but I hadn't considered this.

There's no natting at the moment; what I was going to do was set one up as a bridge, then re-position it. But that's a PITA

I think the next thing I'll do is plug the Netgear in, change the channel and see if that works.
