View Full Version : New activities and some forum changes
Guys, in case you havent noticed, Ive opened a Dead Rising forum and moved the recent relevant threads to the new location.
We also have the amazing opportunity of having some game questions answered directly by their respective producers - Street Fighter IV, Dead Rising Wii and Resident Evil 5. Its not something that happens every day, so dont miss this chance! The threads for submitting your questions are in the relevant forums.

Will the Q&A sessions be publicly released, or will they just remain on the forums?
And im guessing that maybe Capcom-USA are getting this as well?? If so, do we also get the answers to their questions??
The Q&A is purely for this community and wont be directly published in other places (it doesnt mean other sites wont quote or link to this place). Hey were special, you know ;) Feel free to talk about it outside this forum and invite people to sign up and take part :)
This is purely a Capcom Europe initiative and the US are not involved, this doesnt mean joint activities wont happen in the future :)

I too am enjoying whats going on with the forum. Any chance of a Q&A with the Monster Hunter producer? As MH3 is in development at the moment. And this might seem rude but how about some more Mods? As I remember back in the day when there was 5 or 6. And now all I really see is Triple7.

Not a bad idea. There would probably be less people being angry at 777 then in the future. Their bad mood would be equally devided among the new mods.
What do you think about the guy with the highest post count becoming a mod?

Sorry to disappoint you but I cant see the need for additional mods at the moment (and I dont use the post count as a measure for moderatorship :p)
Having the highest post count is not a qualification required to be a good mod.
Tenebra has stated that shell not tolerate flaming on the board, so theyll be no bad moods here. :)

Im starting to enjoy these boards now! Friendly people around! And I bet Tenebra is sexy!
Im the Luis Sera of these parts.
I dont see a need for mods either, unless the forums and the members expand to the point where more coverage is needed, theres no real point in having an army of mods watching about 12 people.
And I bet Tenebra is sexy!

Poster to Moderator ratio should be 300-1. On another note this place isnt completely dead now which is pleasant.

I thought it s more like with educating children. The more mods (or teachers) the better it works.

Not really, Mods are here to keep order and advise people against certain actions rather than teaching them.

Too much modding is bad especially if your administrator appoints suck ups like on certain companies RPG game fourm.

Why would Tenebra appoint a suck up?

Just as a random note from myself here:
- As much as i would like to be a Moderator, i doubt it will ever happen...mostly in part for the fact that i often feel quite strongly about certain arguments.
- If i feel strongly about an argument that pops up on here, then i may very well become a useless moderator...either joining in, or picking a side.
This is very much a useless thing for a mod to do...So as fun as it would be, i doubt it will ever happen.
Ive been a mod on another forum, cant really say it was that much fun for me, especially when nothing happens for a long period of time, so other than the power to make other people stop posting, theres nothing special to it.
And ive seen people who couldnt handle the responsibility, resulting in them going godly every 5 to 10 seconds and abusing their power when someone sneezes, and posting professional speeches to make them seem more mature than they actually are, fact of the matter is, a great mod isnt a mod, they are a fun and thoughtful person who watches over others.
I think TZM would make a great mod due to his reputation as a good poster.
Having been a mod first and then an admin for the past...hmmm...8 years, I can guarantee that there is no glamour attached to it, just a lot of responsibilities. As TZM pointed out, when the mod badge comes you have to take your ego off and put it in a drawer every time you log on the forum you moderate. Its hard work. Your sense of humour also needs to be toned down if you are on the dry, gingerly mocking side as its easy to be misunderstood when you are behind your monitor.
I have great respect for mods, people tend to forget they are members generous enough to give (sometimes a lot of) their spare time for the community, and often end up abused and shouted at. Its not fun.
Couldnt have put it better, that pretty much covers and explains everything.

Something I noticed:
Right now I couldn t speak of TZM as the one with the highest post count actually. I don t know since when, but SILENTKILLER got more posts right now.
Why do I post it here? Well, I didn t want to create a topic for it (I don t think it s that important), and it s a forum change somehow...

Zombiemessia, Spike, me and i think Triple 7 have more than 600 posts. This just shows how much we love this forum :d

I gave up on my post count when i rejoined the forum. Having racked up 9400 in the last forum, just to have it thrown away *sighs*

Remember kids, its quality not quantity. Also is there going to be any clear up of this forums layout its kind of yuck compared to old one.

Nah, wouldnt work. Im obnoxious. I wouldnt mind some sexy female moderators, though. For professional reasons, of course.

Sure Mr Mod we believe you.... Honest.
On a serious note we dont need more mods for now, although Im sold on the idea of sexy female mods in bikinis.
