I bought the European Version of RE5 at least so says the print on the box and the disc. The manual was in english etc. YET the installer had non readable charaters (i do have JP fonts installed) and once installed (thank the quickguide included in box) i noticed i have the Japanese version installed. My question is do i need to return the disc or is there a patch which fixes the issue. The code for windows live was valid so i bought an official version
If you bought this from a shop, its possible that you've got a faulty batch or someone has tampered with the disc, if thats the case then I suggest you take it back to the retailer, most have no quibbles with an exchange over an outright refund.
Its also possible that your settings may be incompatible, causing it to not read the font correctly, or you may have installed the wrong language off the disc (but I doubt this, since its unlikely an EU version would have Chinese or Japanese font or language settings), since I've not heard of this problem before, I doubt there is a patch or fix for it yet.
