Christmas is around the corner we all know that the prices of games are going up, so what better way to create a thread dedicated to spotting the best possible prices for games (especially new game releases).

It'll be very helpfully if you posted an officially link if spotted online and taken a photo of price offer if spotted in a shop or store.

Please make this a sticky!!

I tend to shop around, there are some good deals online.

I find Asda is the best for new releases, since they are usually between £30 and £37 with a few exceptions costing between £15 to £20.

Private sellers online are quite awesome, whilst some can be a bit dodgy (£125 for Arkham Asylum collectors edition, hrm.) there are a good few that sell cheaper than stores, some even sell Xbox Live subscriptions and points slightly cheaper than the recommended price.

I think its always best to look around regardless of what you are buying, there is no one good place.

Check W.H.Smith on a regular basis.

I found House of the Dead: overkill for £10 yesterday. I bought it straight away.

They seem to change their prices and selection on a regular basis, so it's worth looking just incase.

Supermarkets are great (ASDA and Morrisons especially) for game deals, etc.

Yeah it is an amazing price, got that deal just a few days back. I would recomment www.shopto.net to anyone, a lot of the time it is even cheaper than play.com and Asda, which was where I always use to go for games.

I had no idea they did games, thanks for that. I'm going to go in there more often now.

If anyone could find me a store that will sell Tekken 6 at a fairly reasonable price, I'd appreciate it!

I'm not getting the arcade stick one, just the regular as my SFIV stick will work.

Better off waiting for Tekken to drop. Not only do most games drop quickly, beat 'em ups drop even quicker (usually). I cancelled my pre-order just so I can save some money later on...£150 on the bundle is painful for me right now. Maybe later.

Dunno about you Ryu, but I have had enough of Tekken 5 DR I urge to play T6 soon!

They used to have entire sections devoted to games, but over the years they've pulled it back.

My local Smiths went from 2 aisles of games to just 1 small shelf of games.

But it's still worth checking them out, as they can have the occasional good deal.

Same.

Also, my local WHS had a rather big games section which now doesn't exist and is instead a magazine aisle.

Like I said, they occasionally have good deals. It's worth checking, even if you never find anything.

I certainly wasn't expecting to find Overkill for £10 :p

They're cutting back on their media selling. They're trying their hardest to not go the way of Woolworths (who spread themselves so thin that they could only be defined as an "everything" shop).

Looks like that site http://www.gonetomorrow.co.uk is actually a price comparison site, but the Modern Warfare 2 price does look well good!

I hadn't heard of coolshop, the site selling it at £37.98 before, and the random paragraphs of German & Danish did put me off a bit until I did a bit of research and found out that they are the largest game retailer in Denmark and have just recently entered the UK market.

So I went ahead and ordered, now all I have to do is wait and hope royal mail don't bugger things up, thanks for the find guys :D

I also got suspicious of that site, so I ended closing it before further investigation.

Great, I just hope that they start shipping outside UK soon :)

Anyone else had any luck getting info out of Morrisons?
