I wonder if this forum will get any new Ranks for the members here in the future, im Advanced Member since almost 5 months and id like to get a Level-Up. New Ranks would be cool dont u think ? I dont have any good ideas, but how about ....

Ye i know, but a level up every 500 posts would be too easy ^^ I guess no-one would ever hit the 5000, but its just an idea :)

I d prefer if you could write anything there by yourself. It doesn t really make sense to call it rank then, but... well... now I don t know how to go on...guess it s too late.

Ill be totally honest, Im not extremely keen on ranking - great with intelligent people as you pretty much seem to be but it does encourage spam. Open to talk about it but Id be more inclined on opting for the free title. Opinions?

Tags are a good idea, in my opinion. They can be personalized and provide a more accurate reflection of a user and what they contribute(d). As such tags shouldnt be free to choose by the user in question but should rather - for instance - be chosen by the community in cooperation with moderators/admins.

Perhaps there should be post counts as well, since that kind of thing has its own appeal. As for spam - moderators should be able to ensure that things dont get out of hand.

There should be 2 titles, IMO. One should be chosen by the member himself and the secondary one should be chosen by the community(Including mods)+Admins.

Hehe , Honorable Member ^^ Ye but the community thing could be somethin unpersonal aswell. If i want to be (Example) Rank:Monster Hunter Legend, the community might not give it 2 me. Instead i could get Selfish Child or anything else they decide lol. And about the spamming.... who would start spamming 10000 times lol. I dunno if this will ever get through, but i dont wanna have the same rank year for year ( as long as this forum lasts ). We have to find a solution everyone likes and accepts.

I want the title King Toolten wrencher extraordinare, failing that just a tool. I think some rankings would be Ok but base it on time not post count, and user titles would be cool as well as the community ones.

I think this could work:
Some topics already have a poll addition. We could use this function for the community titles. The one who gets the title could make 1or2 suggestions himself, the rest is up to mods. It still might be useful to have a seperate forum section though as this would probably require one topic per user.

Not necessarily. Community titles shouldnt be handed out immediately. It takes some time to find a fitting one, it takes some activity - a considerable amount of posts - of the user in question to find a fitting one. Therefore these are likely to be awarded few and far in between.

Hey, we could also change Introductions into Community or something like that and vote there (and maybe make it accessable only for members too).

Seriously, its a question of quality rather than quantity, thats why Im not keen. I sort of like the idea ManiacFather came up with but Im quite concerned about the practicality; bear in mind that this community is going to grow - a lot, not a tiny bit - I doubt it will be feasible with hundreds or thousands of active users...See my point, I dont want to give you something and then take it back because we cant handle it.

I like the Edit tag idea and ideed ranks encourage spam but i can imagine a title like ForumGod or sum is afcourse nice for a fan like SK and sure i myself like it a bit i cant deny it who doesnt want too be a God Eh..?
