Personally I would appreciate it if posts that were edited would (automatically) be marked as such.

I Agree, and the option to add a reason as to why it was edited would be nice too.

You can add a reason manually too. That s not very difficult is it?
If you want to you can even write it smaller to distinguish it from the rest. like this

Did you actually use the smallest size available? That s hard to read, man.

I d suggest making some mark on the topic too when there s something edited. Like the new posts mark, so that you know when somebody changed something s changed.

Oh, so my suggestion was included there already?
I thought he just meant this little line (with the date it was last edited and by whom and such) at the bottom of the post that some other forums have, but ok.

My bad. Do you mean that, in the list of topics, there should be a symbol that indicates that the original post (first one) has been edited right next to the topics title?

Not really, I suggested (or wanted to suggest..) a mark like this, if any of the posts have been edited. Then you d nevere have to double post anymore. You know, when you edit a post from tow weeks ago then nobody will notice, because noone looks at the topic anymore.

Just on a sidenote: Why do you sometimes quote from a post that s right above yours? Isn t that just wasting space? I mean, you even quoted the post as a whole.

(1) What about people making - merely - corrections?

(2) I rarely quote whole posts. Yours consists of 2 sentences I directly addressed. I dont consider short quotes to be problematic; in the case of someone replying before I do things are clear. Do you intend to question everything I do or are these just coincidences?

(1) I don t think it s necessary to mark the topics then, but how do you want to differentiate corrections and additions?

(2)??? I didn t do it on purpose, honestly. I didn t even notice.
(btw: in case someone answers before you do you can still add a quote, but i guess you know that)

(1) Thats the question.

(I do. But Id rather make sure there is no confusion - and I dont particularly enjoy going back and adding things if its easy to avoid. Especially if/when were throwing around with edited tags/markers here.)

(1)Maybe a one of these little boxes you can put a cross in (forgot their names, sorry).
