So, for the first time in my life I've set an account with an online store.
I've done this so I can pre-order a few things...but I was wondering, will Play.com charge me as soon as I order, or will they charge me when the item is released?
I want to pre-order AC2, but I don't have the money at this time (but will do when it is released).
You're not charged until it's sent to you, this applies to nearly everything you order, theres a brief moment of grace should you change your mind and want to cancel, but once the order is down and dispatched, returns have to be made.
In short, no, not until it's released and heading your way.

Awesome, this has eased my mind a heck of a lot.
Now I can go ahead and pre-order AC2 - Black Edition, and not worry about having my account go haywire.

i pre-ordered SF4 and RE5 in January and they dispatched them 2 days before the realase date, but it's not that great because they sent it from New Zeland, so it took longer to come here :D [anyway it took 15-18 days]
i've been buying on play.com for over a year now and i was always satisfied

Well, I've pre-ordered it now.
I'm still paranoid that they'll take the money now, but going by what the two of you have said, they should't do until well after I have the money in my account.
