Radio 1 have got this feature where they talk about video games, and last week they asked for questions, and I wrote in slandering WoW and said Monster Hunter was hardcore. My question was ostensibly "what would you consider to be a hard game" (focusing on skill and longievity)

Well I got a call asking if I'd mind being on and ask the question. I said sure, so they'll give me a call back to confirm. Fingers crossed.

Ten: Any official line you want me to take if I can? Bearing in mind they'll edit out anything they don't want to fit in (I know how they roll)

Hahaha. Where is Leo when you need him!

Soop - you sound like you can do a good job without the need of us telling you what to say! Tell us when you'll be on and we'll make sure we record it.

The show is on tomorrow between 1 and 3pm. I'll tell you if I get the green light. And if I'm good, I might make the podcast :)

Cool! So you get to talk to the hot new Games expert Alex Simwise rather than Johnny Minkley... although I bet Johnny is better at Street Fighter IV though

We'll keep our ears open for you.

Good luck Soop and I might try to listen even though me listening to a radio station hasn't happened since Summer in Portugal(Antena 3, whoop!:D).

No response yet actually. Keep your fingers crossed, and yeah I'll try to give a shoutout to the forums :)

Well, it's 11... They said they'd call me in the next 15 minutes if it happens at all.

Just got a call... But it was from Le Creuset...

Doh... looks like I'm not gonna be on the radio now. Ah well :(

Their loss!

You gave it your best shot and that is what matter Soop. I am eagerly waiting for something that will most probably result in me never being contacted ever, not even for a simple no. :p

Well, they read out my question without calling me, and got it completely wrong -___-

Typical. The question turned into "I'm a monster Hunter/WoW professional, what game separates the men from the boys" To which the answer was "cooking Mama".

So no shoutout, and no actual answer to the question. And just to add, Alex Simwise is not hot, she's actually pretty fugly.

Cooking Moma means business though because she made a pact with a demon! It looks like we all have more meaningful conversations about games than what is going on in radio shows. :p

So you're a WoW professional now huh? Does that mean you have been indoors so long your skin has become translucent?

Agreed on the Simwise. More like Samwise if you ask me. I bet she has hairy feet and everything.

It's sad to say this, but it a show on Radio 1...the radio station that is often aimed at the "cool" audience.

They would have to make the question different, to make it seem more fitting to the show, the audience, and their general perception of what gamers are like (compared to what gamers are actually like).

Yeah, I'll be expecting my Blizzard cheque any day now. Having never played WoW.

Oh, and try this on: For an "industry professional" she seems not to have heard of Monster Hunter either.
