Ok. This is my first experience with a Capcom product. It lasted approximately 7 hours, and it will be my last. I bought RE5 PC Version, and the damn thing just will not run.

I'm not exactly a 'noob' when it comes to computers, and the PC I have is built to my own spec, and provides a machine more than capable of minimum requirements. Truth is, the porting of this game to PC is incredibly bug-ridden.

I have a Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 3600+ CPU; a Palit 8800gt Super 1GB graphics card; a Creative X-FI Fatality1 Sound card; 4GB of DDR2 667 memory, running WIN XP PRO and displaying it on a 32" HI-DEF Television. All drivers are up-to-date. This comp should play this game no problem, as it plays every other game I have, at high settings.

Having installed the game, which turned out to be the longest time for any game I have installed, I find when trying to run the game the sound is out of sync and all over the place, the display is staccato, and no matter how I tweak the system, it stays the same. After 7 hours of trying to get it to run correctly with no success, I have decided to put it down to being a bad experience with a bad product from a bad company. The game goes back tomorrow...I get my money back, and will never touch a Capcom product again! Even if I got it to work now the anticipation in wanting to play the game has been soured, and I have lost all interest.

Many thanks Capcom, you've ruined a Saturday and inconvenienced me to no end.

Hi!

I have a simmilar problem (read my thread with 1 fps).

Well, I have a solution, maybee you should try it out:

1) Uninstall Games for Window Live
2) Install an older Version of GFWL
3) Start the game again
4) Keep on offline-mode, DO NOT UPDATE GFWL
5) Enjoy Singleplayer (with no live support :-( )

If you do this, you may play in singleplayer... We will have to wait for a patch, it seems that the new version of GFWL has a bug... so everyone with an X2 CPU of AMD can't play online...

Plz tell me if this worked

from my experience i think the problem could be AMD processor.

okay I am hounistly I am running the game on a incredably old 6600gt with an intel pentium 4 Hyper Treathing; but the fact is the only problem I have is the no mercy mercaneries mode is the only level that doenst play smoothly just the fact because my very old card cant just run so many enemies at the same time surrounding chris or jill or sheva or albert. for the rest really the game runs smootly on 800*600 everything set on low and i still get 30 fps randomly.

even with games for windows live version 3.0 under resident evil 5 i get no frame rate drops; and like i said the game is programmed under i7 intel processor so the problem must be AMD athlon or sempron or AMD X2.

I had ones really big problems when i was playing with dead phoenix but those problems are already get rid of it, though I must buy a new computer by the end of the year with directx 11, right now i dont have the money for it but it is coming really.
