Ok. This is my first experience with a Capcom product. It lasted approximately 7 hours, and it will be my last. I bought RE5 PC Version, and the damn thing just will not run.
I'm not exactly a 'noob' when it comes to computers, and the PC I have is built to my own spec, and provides a machine more than capable of minimum requirements. Truth is, the porting of this game to PC is incredibly bug-ridden.
I have a Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 3600+ CPU; a Palit 8800gt Super 1GB graphics card; a Creative X-FI Fatality1 Sound card; 4GB of DDR2 667 memory, running WIN XP PRO and displaying it on a 32" HI-DEF Television. All drivers are up-to-date. This comp should play this game no problem, as it plays every other game I have, at high settings.
Having installed the game, which turned out to be the longest time for any game I have installed, I find when trying to run the game the sound is out of sync and all over the place, the display is staccato, and no matter how I tweak the system, it stays the same. After 7 hours of trying to get it to run correctly with no success, I have decided to put it down to being a bad experience with a bad product from a bad company. The game goes back tomorrow...I get my money back, and will never touch a Capcom product again! Even if I got it to work now the anticipation in wanting to play the game has been soured, and I have lost all interest.
Many thanks Capcom, you've ruined a Saturday and inconvenienced me to no end.
