What do people know about the upcoming Borderlands game? Does anyone have any opinions on it?

looks like a poor mans fallout 3
I looks somewhat promising, a straight out FPS RPG over the method that Fallout 3 chose...
More cartoony and slapstick rather than outright serious, I'll certainly give it a try.

It looks fairly entertaining, though I'm not sure whether it'll be a "first day buy" sort of game.
Everything I like about it is overshadowed by the fact that alot of it is the same as other games. The only reason I'd want to play it is to see some of the weapon combinations I get. Although what annoys me is the fact that I'd never receive that same weapon ever again.
it sortof annoys me how when you kill someone there is a bunch of numbers and points all around them. reminds me of an arcade game.
is it an exclusive?

But in November 10th MW2 is released, so I'll skip this one :D

this attitude towards FPS games has always kind of bugged me.
JRPGs get released all the time, along with Puzzle Games, Action Adventure games, and slew of Driving, Racing and Sports games.
FPSs are no different from any other genre.
Sure, there are some very bad games, and they more than likely outweigh all the great games in the genre...but this doesn't automatically make the entire genre bad, nor does it make every game within the genre "generic" "bland" or "boring."
I can't wait for this game this is one game I have pre ordered the levelling up and the 4 player drop in-out co-op is what appeals to me.
