View Full Version : [Rumour] Spiderman VS Marvel Zombies
Activision has supposedly let slip to a new Marvel game.
SpiderMan VS Marvel Zombies which apparently sees an ordinary Spider Man facing off against infected zombified super heroes from an alternate dimension, but dont expect it to be anything past creepy, as the game is supposedly rated T(Teen).
Its apparently free-roaming and, should Spiderman succumb to infection, he can join them, how this would work on a T-Rated game remains to be seen.
Unconvincing evidence and speculation can be found here:

And yes, Marvel Zombies is a real comic thats been out a few years now:

Although its just a rumour, id like to see it happen, and id like to see it aimmed at a more mature audience, im a big fan of the Marvel Zombies comics and if its true, id definately be buying it.

A Teen game? No way...that just doesnt work for this game. The original comic had them eating each other. It even had Spidey with half a leg if I remember correctly (did he eat it?). Actually, forget that, the guy ate MJ and Aunt May! Then you have a talking head. Could have been Luke Cage (my memory is terrible). I cant see this game being visually or even through text, that appealing (in a sick way). It needs to be pretty graphic in my opinion. The comics were so I dont see why this shouldnt be. Its not like Spidey is a kiddy thing. The guy deals with far more adult or mature material these days.

I know, its like they are specifically targeting children.
Id love to see more adult oriented Marvel games instead of the inevitable movie tie-in games and the occassional game thats either brilliant or terrible based on a developer roulette.
There have been many games that ive seen that id consider 18+ rated that are actually 15+, games like Stubbs The Zombie, which has the anti-hero eating brains, tearing off arms with people screaming I can feel him chewing, but somehow managed to get away with a 15 rating thats probably due to its surrealness, if thats the case then this game should have no problem scooping a 15+, but if its really dead on (no pun intended) with 13+
I suspect a hell of alot would be removed, and it would be extremely tame, overly censored and not the proper game it should be.
By the way, Spiderman lost his leg when he ran out of webbing in a mid swing, landed and broke it in half, he took it off because it got in the way, and the talking head is Wasp.

Marvel Zombies was an excellent series and would make for an interesting game...but i dont really see how it could ever be done.
Especially if it only gets rated as a teen game...
Pretty much everybody here has pointed out what i would have to say about the issue, so ill leave it at that.

That plus I cant remember when Activision last made a half decent attempt at a game using the Marvel license.
