The original data that IGNs report was based on (a webpage from the Australian Classification Office) has since been removed. Perhaps it was true after all?

Yes, MM9 is now official! It was revealed in a interview with Inafking in the latest issue of the Nintendo Power magazine. The article just mentioned a Wii version, but as ESRB rated it as a multi platform title, it will probably be out for Xbox 360 and PS3 too. MM9 for everyone! :d
Also, the game will be made with the classic NES-graphics that we all know and love <3
And they have revealed names for a couple of the bosses, such as Tornado Man and Splash Woman. Thats right, a WOMAN!
Please buy and love this game when it is released, and maybe we will see a MM10 someday too! :)

If there was no woman someone would probably start a Megaman 9 is discriminating topic (you know, like the RE5 is racist).

It would be awesome if they released it on an original NES cartridge, but I don t think that s gonna happen...
Fun idea, but not very likely. Maybe as a limited edition offer maybe.

Why are you that excited? As I said it s not very probable that it will be released like this.
I am that exited because it releases the MEGAMAN 9 after a long 11 years, thats the reason a nes cartridge is welkom but I just wanna play the game!

I just noticed that it would probably be the first game series to go 1 generation back, if there really were NES cartridges of Megaman 9.
Again... fun, but just my thoughts. But maybe some Inticreates guy (or whoever is responsible for that) thinks similar?

question to the developpers of the game! I know it is really back to roots but can capcom japan maybe enable as an option the mega buster and the power slide where you can activate them or disable them?

Wouldn t that make the game a lot more difficult? I mean, if there are narrow paths and you have the power slide deactivated, you d not be able to go on with the level (or do you mean something else with the power slide?).
While we re at it: another back to the roots: Playing the game with a NES controller. If there s an option to use the Gamecube controller I could even do this...
by the way: there won t be any passwords in the game (just read this in a mag, so no link, but it s an interview, so should be reliable)

Megaman 9!!!!
THis is news to me, have loved the series since playing IV for the first time on the NES many years ago.
Any ideas when XBLA is likely to see it released?

Not really. Unless the bosses are a lot harder than in the previous games that is.
It will probably be released in September. I didn t find anything official yet though.

Xbox Live always releases their games at the same time worldwide, for what Ive been told. At least they did so with Bionic Commando: Rearmed, Castle Crashers and Braid.
I heard a rumor that it wont be out untill the 24th, though D: Can anyone confirm that?

I think it is coming out on the 2nd October for xbox live correct so should be a global release. ^_^

Whaaaat? 2.10. would SUCK, because for the US it s 22.9. (for Wii; 25th for PS3 and 1.10. for 360)

I really hope it ll be out this friday. The only reason I can think of why it wasn t released today like it was in the US is that Wiiware is usually updated on friday.
I just checked the Nintendo channel, but so far it has only Helix listed for tomorrow. At least that means tomorrow _is_ a Wiiware update :)
