Paddy-Hackers over on Neoempire.com asked me to post this over here as he can't seem to login his account:
Now as most of you know this title is going to be a straight to console on release.
I grew up in the arcade basically, even though I did play street fighter at home I never took it too seriously in till I went to my first arcade at the age of 13 years old, straight away I was hooked attending arcades at any opportunity I could get, trying to get better and become best at specific street fighter games.
Now almost every street fighter series has made its way to the arcade so stopping now is no excuse.
Benefits of Arcade:
1) Get to play new players and meet new friends
2) You get real arcade atmosphere (learning coup with pressure)
3) 100% NO LAG!
4) Where a lot new tactics are discovered
5) People with certain issues not being able to get console or might not have a decent internet connection for online play.
Even though online play is the future it really cannot be compared to arcade experience. Going to the arcade getting to know people or just going by yourself and meeting strangers totally changes outcome of the game.
At my local arcade in London there can be 50+ people for SF4 on arcade machine! so arcade scene definitely ain't dead yet and new arrivals are consistently joining the arcade scene.
This also keeps some youths off the street and away from crime (a lot crime is caused by bored youths looking for entertainment or a way to pass time). Even though its small majority it still does help!
Now all I want to see is the new instalment of Super Street Fighter 4 hit the arcades this is its rightful place to be and is root of how street fighter actually begun.
So more people that respond to this thread it might help tiny bit and make Capcom release it on arcade. It’s a MUST in the gaming community all over the world!.

As for my own view, i agree that Street Fighter belongs in the arcade, and not hiding behind xboxlive and psn. :sadno:
It was already a bit dissapointing not seeing Console characters added to the Arcade version, but not getting an Arcade release at all for Super Street Fighter IV would be terrible.
How can they not release it for the Arcade? It can't be true. It would be like they didn't believe it was any good? Like an admission it was a B grade game. Not as good as all the Street Fighters before it. The same way that films that suck go straight to DVD.
Being in the Arcades is like a theatrical release, 90% of films are released in the cinema at a loss, the real money is made in the DVD release, but without the credibility and exposure of a theatrical release they would be seriously hurt.
Without the backing of the competitive scene who is left? Probably a majority of the buyers of SFIV who came in on the wave of nostalgia won't be buying the sequel.
Those who are buying the sequel and playing on consoles are likely to benefit in SOME shape or form by there being an Arcade release, even if they don't realise it....more tournaments to compete in, more discussions happening online, more tricks and strategies being figured out and more knowledge out there to learn from, better standard of play overall.
Even though most of the competition is based around the consoles, the Arcade version is like a pillar that props the whole thing up. Doesn't matter if you never make it to an arcade like most people, we'll all be worse off if it doesn't exist.
Signed.
Can't picture it without an arcade release to be honest.

I would love to see an arcade release too.
Street Fighter isn't just a game, it's a cultural phenomenon. In the early 90's it was one of the most influential video game titles of all time, creating fighting game fans all over the world. I can't think of any other game that is as universally popular as Street Fighter is, because you'll find fans in the US, in Europe, and in Asia. Not even huge sellers like Madden and Fifa can match that.
And whilst an arcade release may not be so important for those of us who live in the Western world, it is hugely important for players in Asian territories. The loyal SF community that has established itself around the world did so because of arcades. If Street Fighter had not been an arcade release in the 90's, the loyal and passionate fanbase that exists today would not.
People around the world support this community, and that's why so many want to see an arcade release of the game, so that our friends from all over the world do not miss out on the latest version of the game!
For anyone that feels the same, an online petition has been started by members of US site SRK here:

It's especially unusual in Japan in which the arcade scene is very much alive and kicking. I donno maybe capcom have a deal to sell it console only to convert more players to consoles hard to believe that though.
The arcade scene in the UK as a whole is virtually non existent with a few exceptions. How pi**ed off would you be if you had bought the arcade cab 12 months or so ago for £3k and its being superseded already.
Your right though this is all very strange mabe there gonna upgrade the arcade cab already out there though i doubt it

Whilst I agree with Paddy Hackers' sentiment (and would not like the see ONE popular SFIV machine in the country in Casino), I feel like I should point out a few things.
1. This is the Capcom Europe forums. Fair play, we're Capcom, but we have no say over what happens within our arcade division. Definitely post this stuff all over Capcom Japan's equivalent! Sadly, we have no say. If we did, Golden Gunman and Rip The Jacker would be all over this already, as they're Capcom staff.
2. The number of youths it keeps off the streets (by your estimations) is only 50-ish. For the price of putting it on an arcade machine, this is not a good investment! I recommend you don't take this to Dragons Den.
3. There's NO WAY you can even fit 50 people into Casino, or round the fighting games area in the Troc, so don't try it! That would be more people than turned up to most of the Neo Empire Ranking Battles that I went to.
I'm just playing devil's advocate, though. I would love a machine in the office, and I would love for the Japanese players to tear apart the console characters, because THAT'S where the new tactics are discovered. And the dev team have said that they're not ruling an arcade release out, so hold on to that hope!
Get Paddy Hackers to email me and I'll find out why he can't log on. I don't think he's banned or anything, but I'm not in charge of that.
There is actually a scheme in place by a company called Colosseum Games in which Street Fighter IV is used to fight youth crime. It's in its early stages but when I have more info and I know how everyone can get involved, I'll let you know. It's very exciting.
