Hi there!
I have made the benchmark for RE 5 after installing it. It told me 35 FPS / Sec ~.
Now I wanted to start a new game, so I was asked to connect to my W live profile. I did so and when I was logged in, the game began to run very very very slow, like 1 FPS / sec!
I don't know why the games becomes so slow when connecting to W live, please help me :mad::mad::mad:
Do anyone has the same issue?
My System is: Athlon X 2 4400+, 2048 DDR RAM, GF GT 8800
Only when you are connecting or once you are connected?

Do you have any issue to this problem? Because I can't play until I solved this problem :-((((((
The only way to get assistance is to contact the support by email...

I send an Email to the support, I hope thay have a solution for me... :-(
Well, I tryed to start th game without onnecting to Games for windows live.
Everything works fine until I press new game. Then after 1 or 2 minutes it begins to have 1 FPS and the CPU has 100%.... don't know...

I googled the issue.
Some other ppl seem to have the same problem... but I found something simmilar:
They all got an AMD X 2 CPU... maybee there is something wrong with the utilisation of the 2 CPU's... It seems that it gets overloaded after some time so that the utilisation is permanantly @100% what results in 1 FPS...
In that case is a game problem... maybe not, if it's so you should wait a patch. It's better for you that it's not so.

....
I contacted support several times, I did not even recive an Email notification...:mad::mad:
I really dun understand why they don't deliver a patch, I mean it's a well known problem now and no one with my system specs can play it :-(

Well I am now able to play in singleplayer, the issue is due to GFWL... I wish I could give it back and get a steam version :-(...
I tested it, and now with an old version of GFWL I can play with high FPS but only in offline mode as I can't go live with an non updated GFWL...
Hope they will find a solution soon
Steam is just a shop, the game will always need Games for Windows client.

I have the same problem, hope they can fix it. My CPU is an AMD 64 X2 6000+.
EDIT: It seems that this problem is related to Windows Live.
These links are German btw.

All report the same issue. After updating and logging into Windows LIVE, the game's fps drop to under 1fps with AMD CPUs.

problem is that like i said in the other treath the amd processor and GFWL.
like i said before if you buy a game and if you are not definitly sure if it will run dont buy it.
Rec specs for Resi5 are
Intel processor beginning with P4 HT or Pentium D but it must be an intel processor.
second is your graphic card and if it is tested on Nvidia prior do it with nvidia graphic card.
and third look at everything at the minimum and rec specs.
I run the game on a 6600gt and P4HT and that is too slow for the min specs but I am happy with it because i run it with no problems because I tuned my pc so much it runs smootly, sometimes with some stubbering with for the no probs at all.

So ATI guys and AMD guys can't play this game?
Can I say I'm lucky because I have at least an Nvidia card?
I really hope Capcom will fix this issue as I won't buy a new computer for a 34 dollar game.
Did you look on the flipside of the DVD case? It says system requirements Intel Pentium D Processor or higher, AMD Athlon64 X2 or higher.
I have an AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ so it should run well otherwise it would be fraud.

Possible solution:
Start Resident Evil's startprogram -> open Task Manager -> Right click on
"launcher.exe" process -> Set Affinity -> uncheck CPU1 -> Go back to the Startprogram and click on "Play with DirectX9" or "Play with DirectX10".
Now my game runs as it should. Hope we get a patch soon...

UPDATE:
I got an email from Capcom today, all guys with AMD X2 CPUs and Windows XP experience the huge FPS drop should install the AMD CPU Optimizer with which the game will run fine now.
