Most people that are going to buy RE5 on the 360 or PS3 have been fans of the series at least since RE4 was released.
Every game in the main series was available on the gamecube, and the Wii is backwards compatible, and almost every game in the series is available on the PS2...
There would be little to no point re-releasing the games...theyve been ported hundreds of times now, another port is un-welcome.

i can understand where u are cuming from however as a fan of the resident evil series i wud relish the chance to play in my and many people round the world oppinion the greatest gaming series ever made revamped for a next genaration gaming platform. plus i cudnt bare gettin my ps2 or gamecube out of the attic, blowing the layers of dust and cobweds off and put up with the pathetic graphics (dont take offense to this capcom its not ur fault its the fact the consoles u made it for didnt hav the greatest graphic cards) when my 360 is beside them.
valve proved tht there is a costumer demand for full series which were designed for a old console but brought up to new consoles selling more than 1 million copys for the 360 alone. consider the fact resident evil has many more fans tht means a high profit for capcom
to attract people who hav already completed the games before, a couple of tweaks wud be advisable. for instance largen sections of the games, add new weapons, more types of monsters, more modes like mercenary mode, make the camera less ridged on the first few games so the style stays the same but the random sneaky zombie who gets u because hes just out of the screen has a harder job and the graphics wud be better so the grenade lancher rounds dont look like a fire ball of street fighter.
yes the orange box sold well BUT only Half Life 2 has been on console before meaning Half Life 2 Episode 1 & 2, Portal and Team fortress had never been on console before.
The Resi ports of 2,3 and code veronica did not sell well on GC and neither did the Re-Make or Zero
You dont need stellar graphics to make a good game.
Just dust of your ps2 or buy a 60GB Ps3 if you can then play in 1080p thanks to the BC upscale

We dont need more ports or remakes.
As Spike said, Ep1&2, Portal and TF2 were not available on consoles before the Orange Box, so were released as such...and thus sold very well.
But with every previous RE game being available on the previous consoles, it is much easier to just get them cheap and play them on your new consoles.
And tweaking the cameras of the originals would just completely ruin them...i WANT to be surprised by that Zombie that was just out of view. I dont want to be able to see him, and then obliterate him with new and improved weaponry.
And i dont really need to see any new visual effects on just how he died...
On top of that, what happens when RE7 or 8 is being released on the PS4 or Xbox 720? Will you want them to upgrade them again because they have worse visuals than the newer games?
It is an ever going cycle of remakes and ports that just needs to be stopped so Capcom can focus on bringing us newer games, rather than rehashing titles that have already been played to death.

A few years ago, i was the same. I wanted nothing more than a remake of RE2 and RE3...but over the past few years i have come to realise that RE has to be more than just remakes and ports. YES the games would look really nice and play really nice if they were remade...but the games are still perfect the way they are, and Capcom should spend their time making new games rather than porting or remaking.
Perhaps when the series has died out and Capcom need the money, they could think about remaking the earlier titles...but for now, im happy with them to focus on RE5, Dead Rising, etc, etc, etc.

Un-welcome, by who ? Not by me anyway and i have been a die hard fan since 1996. I like all releases and remakes (almost all).
I would want to have the whole collection on my Xbox 360 or PS3, why not ? Is it just because you guys are afraid Capcom would be putting too much time on making remakes rather than new games? New games which most of you pessimists keeps complaining on ?
but the games are still perfect the way they are, and Capcom should spend their time making new games rather than porting or remaking.
That is so much BS..
I would not go so far calling Res2,3 perfect. Far from it. and Why would you even care of what Capcom does with their time and money ?

Un-welcome, by who ?
By me, hence why i said it. I didnt say un-welcome by all fans especially aka active now did i?
I would want to have the whole collection on my Xbox 360 or PS3, why not ?
Because the whole collection is already available, and the majority of newer consoles will still play them. Both Wii and PS3 will still play the entire collection.
Is it just because you guys are afraid Capcom would be putting too much time on making remakes rather than new games? New games which most of you pessimists keeps complaining on ?
Never said a bad thing against RE5, and the only bad things i have said about RE4 are shared among many. Add that to the fact that i find faults with most of the RE titles, im not exactly aiming all of my hate towards 1 game alone.
but the games are still perfect the way they are, and Capcom should spend their time making new games rather than porting or remaking.

You seem to be mistaking the definition of perfect. Im not on about graphically perfect, or perfect in gameplay, etc, etc. The perfection is in the overall quality and the nostalgic quality. The original games should be left how they are unless Capcom/Mikami feels there really is more that can be added to them. Which, to be honest, there isnt.
And i notice you also forget to quote the rest of my post that shows just WHY i think they are perfect the way they are.
and Why would you even care of what Capcom does with their time and money ?
Every games magazine or website in history has mentioned how annoying it is that Capcom do nothing but port or remake their titles (Street Fighter, Megaman, Resident Evil). This annoyance is also present in the fanbase.
If Capcom keep doing it, their audience/fanbase is going to diminish. A dimishing audience/fanbase creates a complete lack of money.
This lack of money leads to 2 things:
1. A complete overhall of their entire series to fit with a better audience. And im on about more of the jump present from Code Veronica to 4. Most of their series would be butchered.
2. Bankruptcy. Their fanbase and audience would be gone, and they would have nothing left.
Extreme possibilities, i know...but they are still possible. I would rather see Capcom putting their money into creating new games and trying to get a bigger and better fanbase/audience, than just porting and remaking forever and dwindling all of their money away.

I did get that, and thats why i think it is BS. Did they not remake Resident Evil 1 ? It turned out to be a masterpiece. Why wouldnt Resident Evil 2 and 3 be just as good then if they remade them ?
And if they do make remakes of Resident Evil 2 and 3, wouldnt you like it ? Wouldnt all fans like it ? I know it would never ever happen and that this discussion is pointless but if they would make remakes, it would only be for the fans. I cant see why else they would want to make remakes.
I know you like Resident Evil 2 and you say that a remake on it is un-welcome. But i cant imagine you saying that when you are standing there with an all new next-gen remake of Resident Evil 2 in your hands.
You know Capcom would never ever ever, never ever ever get bankrupted becasue of a Resident Evil remake, but it is a possibility yes. A silly one.
Besides, i think that a collection on Xbox 360 would be a hit if they revamped the graphics a little bit and refreshed the audio. Many people havent even played a single resident evil game. Resident Evil is their legacy, so why shouldnt they introduce it to a new audience again ?

People seem to forget that RE1 was remade because it needed to be remade. It wasnt remade just for the fans...notice people were quite happy with how RE1 was before Capcom remade it?
RE1 (the original) no longer fit in with the rest of the series. The introduction of the rest of the series made RE1 completely inconsistent, with too many plot holes, etc.
On top of this, RE1 did not live up to what Mikami originally wanted. It was missing many of the locations that Mikami wanted in the game, along with enemy types and certain files (Trevor diaries, etc).
RE2 almost got to the same state, as we can see with 1.5... It was not turning out how Mikami wanted it, but then he just ditched it and rebuilt it as he wanted it. It isnt missing any locations, the characters were how they wanted them to be, etc, etc.
Yes, it could be remade...but it would only be redoing the graphics and sound...there would be little to no point in remaking them now.
And again you have failed to quote my post...notice that i say that perhaps in a few years when the series is coming to a close i would be happy to see them remake the games?
And once again i find myself having to point out that this is my opnion. Whether or not you think it is BS, it is still my opinion and this is why I think they dont need to remake the games.
RE1 original was first just a Alone in the dark rip-off with a mansion filled with zombies. but then sequels came out with some huge story, I never liked RE1 and I thought it was, and still think its crap and boring as hell. Resident Evil 2 was the game I liked and that made me get hooked on the RE series.
I think RE2 should be remade, its the best Resident Evil game ever made.. and still, RE Remake is a shitty game and its boring as hell.. I just have to admit it. same goes for RE0.
Id rather now want a RE2 DS, or a new RE2, and when Im talking about RE2 Remake, I really dont care if its in 3rd person. RE4 was not ruined by its 3rd person thing. what ruined RE4 for me was how you were ALWAYS outside, most boring zombie design Ive ever seen in my life, and its too much medival (when I mean that, I mean the game is kinda like Assassins Creed-stiled, or like Age of Empires, something medival, with dirt and village thing and that kind of thing is so boring IMO. I hate nature and outside.
TZMs right, the last thing the series needs is remakes right now. With so much still going on in the RE universe, they should be concentrating on bringing this paticular arc to closure (though maybe thats already happening with degeneration, and to a certin degree UC) instead of just remaking games.
The games are currently easy to find, when that isnt the case then prehaps itll be time for a rethink

okay i now think it wud be wrong to bring out the full series at the moment. let capcom make new RE games with the CV camera angle. but when the series has reached a climax the whole series (by that i mean the story of claire chris jill leon and possibly barry ada carlos and sherry. not outbreak) all the games should be released on what ever console are out
Well, if you think about it, only RE2 and RE3 need remaking, id say that Zero, REmake, RE4 and CVX are recent enough, but ultimately I think the media itself would be far too large to fit on a single disc, meaning every game would have to be released individually which there is no point in actually doing since thats already the case.
