I noticed in Degeneration, a picture shows the gun Leon uses with the text "Kendo". This is interesting, as it shows Kendo's skills for guns went on after RC.

Kendo did actually have a brother, who also worked within the firearms industry. So there is a chance that he carries on his brothers work, etc.
There is also the chance that Leon may have kept the weapon from Raccoon City, but it's minimal.
Was the gunshop guy actually confirmed as being kendo? He's given a completely different name in the comic.

Joe yeah, he isnt seen in RC at the time of the outbreak. Also Leon is not seen in 2 with that gun. Maybe barry kept going as he is into guns and Leon got in contact with Chris.

It's inferred that the guy is Kendo. He might not be, there is always that possibility.
However, if you're going by the Wildstorm magazine/comic, that is very much non-canon. especially considering their squed re-telling of the RE2 events, and the somewhat comical re-telling of RE1 (where Jill questions why Chris is lying about who got locked in the cell by Wesker).

Is it the handgun model that you're talking about?
I supose there is a chance that Barry kept in touch with Kendo's brother, since they all seemed quite close in the files about them all.
Just checked the RE2 Credits, theres no mention of the gunshop guy.
Yeah, *fortunately* the comics are non-canon, I just thought it was interesting to note that he was called "George". I always thought he was the truck driver at the start but I noticed the trucker was zombified at the wheel.
Its possible that the Kendo business is a franchise across America, with ties to the military and police forces, as evident when they where approached to make the Samurai Edge, although we can disregard that Leon would find comfort in a weapon branded Kendo, since they never met in the canon scenario.

I think alot depends on wheter Joe was killed in the RC incident. In 3 Last Escape its said that Joe wanted the gun to be named Samurai Edge. But for this name to spread then someone had to get out with the info, as this was soon near the outbreaks. Also the gun was specifically for S.T.A.R.S. which says that there was no consideration for SE going out of RC.
Leon isnt a well known gunsmith. And he hasnt necessarily met Chris or Barry. But somehow he got that gun. Probably during his government training. But was it in time with Operation Javier or pueblo?
I think its being taken a wee bit too seriously, its more than likely a fleeting homage to RE2 and the irony that in every "zombie" encounter, he happens to have a Kendo branded gun.
But I'm pretty sure its an in-universe brand name a là Smith & Wesson, but its possible that the government issues its staff with Kendo firearms,or that Leon prefers it, its not crazy to assume that as a government agent, he owns and maintains his own firearms. It's possible that many are still in circulation despite the destruction of Raccoon City, hell, the event could have improved the reputation of the guns since some survivors in Raccoon City would have them. Or, as I said before, the Kendo business could be a franchise, with only the branches in Raccoon City being destroyed and the rest still functioning.

Well, Leon doesnt have one in 2, unless the DE was customized by kendo. I think as a gov. agent, Leon can act on his own basing. Barry is a probable source to have made kendos bigger worldwide as he had good ties with them. I dont think kendos is a worldwide store as there were too strong ties and focus with RC and kendos themselves.

Well, yeah, but what I meant was, its a homage to RE2, a tribute rather than an outright solid fact.
And yeah, it's possible that Barry carried on the Kendo name since he was good friends with them, it wouldn't be unnatural to assume that he is making Kendo guns.
