View Full Version : One of my favourite bits of the RE games.
Something that is largely overlooked that beams RE...
The doors between rooms. I always loved the door(and stair) sequences. I can't quite put my finger on why. But I really thought they were awesome.

For me, that depended on my mood whilst playing.
Sometimes I thought they were great...other times? They angered me, or I'd get impatient, etc.
First time I played RE2 though? They were great for setting the mood, and the one where Zombies end up coming through and attacking you? That was awesome...
The doors and stairs sequence is the best, i mean, im afraid whats behind the door, i open it, then the sound(eeeerrrr)and suddently scary music starts just a second before the screen appears, phew :D
I think Resi DS did this best, where you could skip the door/stair scenes when you couldn't be bothered to wait, or you could wait if you wanted the suspense.
Jeez, I miss the doors too! In RE4 and 5 they simply removed them by having the screen going black (in 5 you have some quick flashes - sometimes almost subliminal - retelling the story of Umbrella: nice attempt, but the doors were cooler).
