Strong rumors for sf4 dash announcement at TGS

Has been reporting that there are lots of rumors and evidence to suggest that sf4 dash may be announced at TGS (the Tokyo Games Show) and this is the last big games conference for some time so it's possibly the most likely time/place if they were to make an announcement this year.

As some of you might be thinking the games only been out for a few months how can it be replaced, What you have to remember is just cause its being announced doesn't mean its gonna be on the consoles anytime soon, it will go through all the coding and testing then the arcade phase then release in Japan then the US before the inevitable delay before we in euro land get it.

Eventhubs goes on to suggest that strong roumors are suggesting the follwing additions to the character roster.

From Street Fighter 2: Dee Jay and T. Hawk.
From Street Fighter 3: Dudley, Ibuki and Makoto.
From Street Fighter Alpha: Adon, Cody and Guy.
Plus two completely new characters.

What do we think in Euro land then?

I think they shoulda thrown in Yun. Of course, this is assuming the rumors are true. Oh and Rolento as those two are the ones I used to use a lot.

Personally I would rather have DLC than have to buy a whole new game for a few characters, though if they change the story and add more feature, might be something to look forward to.

Super Street Fighter IV i heard...it would be really cool, but for 3 characters and eventually 2 or 3 new stages a DLC would fit perfectly instead of a new game, even because i think SSF4 users couldn't play against SF4 players if there will be 2 different games

i was talking to tenebra in the pub around the time everyone was complaining about having to pay for resi 5 vs and she was telling me publishers are lucky if they get £4 per unit from the retailers/wholesalers, or whoever it is they sell too, so games publishers evidently aren't making the money people think they are especially when you consider how many salaries they have to pay.

i dont know how much microsoft or sony take of dlc sales (i wouldnt be suprised if its a lot) but it could be possible that capcom could make more off of dlc than a physical release.

Like you however with an update like this where there is a heck of a lot of content rumoured to be added a physical release i would prefer, theres just something about the idea of holding a physical copy of SUPER Street Fighter 4 in my hands that gets my blood racing!

Since Eventhubs were the first one with the info on T.Hawk and the new characters, I'm gonna place my trust in what else they mentioned on the internet.

It's not just the new characters, but the fighting mechanics will have some overhauls, new priorities and moves, which means this is basically the "XX Reload" version of SFIV.

I might be one of the only ones, but I'd prefer a new disc, rather then DLC that'll take up what little space I have left on my Xbox HD. >_<

Your not alone physical media wins for me and other I know.

As for Event hubs they reported a rumor but it is looking more and more credible. Catalyst puts alot of work into that site its hard to come up with news daily on Street Fighter.

Im just glad I get to help him around the site and I run the sister site EHT (event hubs tourneys) It's also worth remembering that the site is a reaction to all the elitism and negative behavior from the street fighter community. It welcomes all players at all skill levels

If the rumours of 10 new characters, a modified system (2 ultras...I wanted zero but eh) and new endings (apparantly set a year after SFIV) are true then yeah, a retail version is better. Besides, rumours suggest (and I'm expecting it to) it'll be an arcade release for a while before it hits consoles. It'd be no different from SFIITurbo to SSFII back on the SNES, really. Who honeslty believed an SF game could be released without an update? I'm well excited for this. SFIV has been...not hooking me lately so this update should do wonders.

The difference between now and Street Fighter II age is that did not exist DLC possibilities.

The Japanese site had a Super makeover!I think Onlyonet is right anyway because didn't Street Fighter 4 sell for £29.99 in most places?I was lucky to get the collector's edition for that much. Anyway, I wouldn't mind buying this if it had new things to do like bringing back to car to trash to bits and excuses to play with Cammy/Rosie more often.... :D

You're right Charmed it was cheap. I do however expect Super Street Fighter to be cheaper still! The SRP of Street Fighter IV (the price we sugguest people sell the game at) was £39.99 the SRP of Super Street Fighter IV is likely to be much lower!

Really this isn't much different to Lost Planet Colonies Edition a 'premium budget' title a lot more content, a few tweaks and a price that will hopefully be acceptable to you all. So if you didn't buy street Fighter last time you'll be able to get the best version of the game at a lower price and if you love Street Fighter IV you'll get a load more content at a price that is cheaper than if it was available as DLC. Everyone wins!

Almost all games come out at £40 at first, unless you either find a bargain or wait for the price to drop. If it ended up cheaper than DLC I would be happy, most of the time I feel DLC is too expensive anyway.

I wonder if it would be possible to release an expansion disk, cheaper than a full game and that way people lacking internet couldn't complain. I don't know personally I think it is cheeky to re-release the same game with a few extra features that could have been in in the first place.

Platinum or budget titles don't come out at £40! This is a premium budget title much like Lost Planet Colonies Edition; low price + great extra content + cheaper than it would be if it was DLC = Win :D

From what I can tell it will be worth buying a new disc with all the features that are going to be on offer. I even heard something about keep your old SF4 disc and you will get a nice bonus surprise...mysterious, very interesting if it is true. I like that you could actually get rewarded for being a returning customer :D.

I really, really don't get what the fuss about DLC vs Disc release is all about. The point of content vs other yearly iterations (ie. Fifa and other sports games) is enough alone to justify a disc release. The changes aren't minute enough to just update. They're essentially 2 types of game because of the changes. DLC wouldn't really highlight this point.

Nearly every single beat 'em up on the market today has re-released updates. The only "recent" beat 'em up that got an expansion in disc form (that I know of) was a Guilty Gear game way back on the Wii and that, from what I know, was because the initial game was quite a mess. Every other beat 'em up in SF's calibre has had an extra re-release with a great deal more content. Every big name beat 'em up with substational changes to the same title gets a seperate release. Tekken 5 to DR, Virtua Fighter 4 to Evolution, VF5 to something to Final Tuned, Tekken 6 to BR etc etc. Once again, nearly all these games were also released at a reduced price. Capcom has confirmed a reduced price for SSFIV. The rest is up to you. You don't like it, don't buy it. Let the others enjoy it. Me? I just want a more useful Fei Long and some Yun action.

Oh, the re-release pricing for T6 and VF5 only applies to arcade operators since Final Tuned never got a console release and BR will be the first console Tekken 6 release.

lol. Super Street Fighter IV. All i can say is its the same game with about a few more characters.

They should add more characters and call the game something like;
Ultimate Street Fighter IV
This is what it should have:
- All Street Fighter IV characters
- More characters such as Darun, Blair, Allen, Hokuto, D. Dark, Skullomania, along with hidden characters; Evil Ryu, Shadow Geist, Garuda, Bison II
- Modes: Barrel Smash up like the old engine with better graphics, smashing up the car, Team Battle up to 7 players Max,
- Stages: more stages from different street fighters games eg Alpha 3, EX, EX Plus etc

This way the game will be much better. more characters, more stages way more entertaining than current players that are avialable in Street Fighter IV.

Ultimate as you describe would be interesting if very unbalanced.

I take it your a fan of the EX series which was good but hardly in the same league as sf4.

So far T.Hawk, Juri and Dejay have been announced but thats just the start we are likely to be drip fed the info as we move toward release.

Bonus stages are likely apparently and more stages (some are likely to be remakes) are also on the way whats been announced so far is just the begining

They've also said that they haven't given up on the idea just yet, so there may still be an arcade release at some point.

I expect capcom will make SSFIV worth us parting with our hard earned cash. i expect to see things like new modes and special features on the disk. I'm glad they are not going down the DLC route! i dont like DLC as it encourages developers to release half finnished, buggy game and patch them later, like pc games have done for a while. I dont mind it when it comes to episodic games like sam and max, where boxed production would be too expensive on a monthly bassis but even that is a bit of a cheat when you considder that they managed to port it to WII for £30, £10 less than the total download cost for the PC dlc version.

Any way, at the end of the day, capcom have always done this. SF II, SFII Turbo, SFII the world worrior, SF II championship edition (they made a ps2 compilation just out of SF II versions!!!!!!) and how many verions of SF alpha 3 now? i dont see any difference, just a continuation of a capcom tradition.

The only negative aspect about the game is the fact that I would have to do all the hard trials AGAIN :sadno:! I bought a new slim PS3 and had to start from zero! Maybe owners of the original can keep their achievements and transfer them to SSFIV :chin:!? Otherwise I am excited to see T. Hawk and co returning and maybe there are some new awesome fighters (like Abel; I like him :D)! Oh and I hope the cutscenes explain the events better: in SFIV every ending shows the story from a different perspective but none of them comes really to a conclusion. And the animations were... lets just say it could have been done better! But that's just my opinion.

"Been thinking about the news that they havent announced an arcade version of sf4 and at first it was very puzzled at first i speculated that it may be a plot to sell more consoles but ive dismissed that it just seems silly.

Why then alienate your home market back in your mainland it's fairly well known the Japanese and other asian countries love the arcade.

I then started to think about DLC on a completely different thread of thought. Whats the main reasons why DLC didnt arrive on sf4 (more backgrounds, more music and more chars even etc) well 1 they hadnt thought to program it in to the game disc and 2 as they kept saying they didnt want to divide the userbase.

So what if they did the console version first then the arcade later they can slowly update the game feeding us dlc every couple of months and tweak the game and later release it on arcade. Sell the game at a low price also makes sense when you thinking about it more users bigger market for dlc.

Maybe im adding 2 + 2 togetherand getting 5 but having qualifications in retail you become more skeptical.

Yep i'd like to see em back too but its just not gonna happen the EX series was a huge flop in Japan (so I heard) and didnt exactly set the wool on fire here and in the US

Garuda being a personal fav id love to see em get back in. If you visit capcom unity and start a thread asking for EX charcters to be brought back you might start a movement but I dont think you'd have a huge amount of success. This has help the likes of darkstalkers and even SF3 fans get action from capcom but it largley depends on the amount of support you get.

Funny I dont think ive seen one thread about the ex chars being included. There is one good thing though with the huge success of the Dowload games on psn and xbl (MVC2 and SSf2HDr) it is very likely that one day we will see a EX game with online options.

In my opinon, he is great. When I have a job that pays well, I will buy a PS 3 and SSF 4 and be the best player with him, and hopefully I will see you, Ryu, online and kicking your butt.

i'd like to see an israeli krav magar user and a korean tae kwon do player. i dont think there were too many americans (weren't there like four?). as a martial artist, i'm more interested in the fighting styles, and the exagerated moves taken from them, than where the fighters come from.
Street Fighter IV has six fighters from America and there are few more on other SF games. Seems like a lot to me compared to other countries. This map (http://media.eventhubs.com/images/2009/10/08_streetfightermap.jpg) has the characters pretty well listed.
But as you said the origin isn't really that important for me either - I'd rather see different fighting styles as well. One thing I always find boring on SF IV is how some characters share similiar moves. For example Ryu, Ken, Dan and Akuma and their Shoryuken and Hadouken. I realize they have different effects but they still seem like the same move.

Going back to SSFIV discussion, it seems (http://www.famitsu.com/interview/article/1228197_1493.html) like the replay system is going to get updated. I'm hoping they will include choices to save any match you want, be it a player match online or a local match.

I was just saying really, its not like I will never go a character unless they are from the UK. Just the whole story line is "fighters from around the world", yet over half the worlds countries are missing and some countries have too many representitives, just my opinion.

This was posted on Event hubs just the other day its way more then half (British flag pointing at Scotland with the word England over it typical) Anyway look at the Asian characters and the americans no caniadians argies its a bit strange africa seems to have one

Yeah I noticed where the "England" arrow was pointing to aswell but yeah I seen that map and I would still say a lot of the world is not represented.

Finland, Sweden, Canada, Austrailia, Poland, Austria, Greece, Turkey and Greenland are some of the main places that are still missing.

Off topic this I know but is it just me who noticed Yun and Yang are in Chun Li's opening movie and Adon in Sagats in Street Fighter 4 and are not in the game?

I know Arika have the rights but Capcom could sort something out if they wanted to.

There was a comment on unity the other day (cant seem to find it) Where a member of the team explained what the story it with ex

The other games company involved making the ex series own the intilectual property of all the ex specific characters and where able to use capcoms characters as part of a deal, however if capcom desired to use the EX charcters they would need to license them from Akira (not sure thats the name but it sounds like it) Also part of the deal is that they cannot use EX specific charcters in other games unless the obtain permission from capcom.

That last part is intresting and is possibly why they will never branch off from the street fighter ex series and make another game using there own chars.

Ex isnt dead but it is on life support if you want em your gonna need to work for it by lobbying capcom. This is why SF3 chars are on there way and some of the alpha cast too. Someone also posted on unity a request to have some of them included but it was kinda luke warm recieved in comparison to other requests.

Even if you were to lobbie succesfully it may already be to late

He must have survived the fight with Akuma somehow. Maybe Akuma didn't deem him worthy enough to be killed by his power, or he could have survived just like how Gouken did. Who knows? :confused:

We're currently "developing" a system for hadouken.se (a european Street Fighter IV community). That let's the users create their own ranbats (ranking battles). The creator will then be able to invite other members into the ranbat and use a leaderboard to keep track of each and every participants points/wins/loss etc. Each ranbat will work almost like a channel where the participants will be able to chat and check the rankings, upcoming matches etc... What do you guys think of the idea? It will probably be easier to keep track of matches etc in the new lobby system in SSFIV, but we'll make sure it's compatible with pretty much every mp game, atleast fighters.

We'll try to finish it before the launch of SSFIV. And yea we will change the url to .com aswell.

And Adon is gonna be awesome :) About time the Alpha characters gets some time in the spotlight ;P

Not a bad idea, I run a small (international site called EHT) 200+ Members its a sister site of Eventhubs, Some things you might want to consider is that people wont show up and generally be a pain in the ass at times. Lag might be a bit less of an issue for Euro only site but getting enough Euro's to play will be the challenge, good luck with it i'll look in on it some time, need any help just ask.

Yeah, Mecha-Zangief appears in MvsC as a special move for Zangief.

The official story is that Zangief worked for Shadaloo and they offered him a stronger body, he took up the offer in exchange for working with them but later regretted being turned in to a robot... Or at least, thats what it says in the SNK Vs Capcom card game...

yhyh i know dont get me wrong, but say if you're performing a vertical ball or even a straight ball, a shoryuken will get you everytime providing the skil of the opponent.

and the best thing about blanka's ultras is they stun your opponent first for optimum effectiveness

The game is £25 on most site's except play who are currently trying to pre-order for £30-£40 i think. Cheapest way to get it would be t take it to trad-in store and trade it in.

Nothing really new here, although there is some footage from the intro video (those arty ones when you start up the game) only this time showing Chun-Li vs. Juri. The part where Cody pops in also made me smile ^^

Since they've released trailers for the Juri anime on the european Xbox Live Marketplace, I'm willing to bet that we'll get the anime too. And if Xbox gets it, it's more than likely PS3 will too. :)

I want to address Capcom with the fallowing:

To be honest I don't know whether someone mentioned this before me, but I think it would be better if Capcom give us the national flags of the characters back. Recently I read an article where it was written that they removed the flags, because with them the screen being overburdened. I don't think this is right, as we all can see, on the loading screen are available only the character name + the name of his ultra. I think that when someone sees his own flag in the game it's makes him feel proud that he has the possibility to play with a fellow-countryman character. Plus flags are cool anyways, so please bring them back, please!

OMFG OMFG OMFG! my copie turned up today for some reason! ITS AWESOMMMMMMMMMEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm loving juri! seth has been massivlry de buffed which is good! zangief is still a B**** though! the bonus stages are as good as ever and i like that you dont have to unlock all the fighters again. also if you have SFIV data on your hard drive you get two bonus, sketchy colours for each fighter!

Crossing my fingers and hoping it magically appears tomorrow. Been listening to the new tunes on YouTube. My GOD! Some of them are seriously awesome. Cody, Balrog! When I saw Fei Long had a new tune (forgot EVERY character was getting them), I literally went "oh! oh! oh! Ma boooiiii!". Yeah...

I couldn't figure out Cody's tune at first so thought it has to be from an FF game. Turns out it is. FF intro for those who wish to know.

Slightly disappointed in Gen and Adon's themes. Both are still good but don't carry the same impact they had back in Alpha 2.

One of the menu theme's is also very Alpha 3-esque (Brave or Grave). That was cool, whether it was the intention or not.

Mine should be arriving tomorrow (Or today if you wanna be technical), I've ordered both PS3 and Xbox360 versions. Luckily, GAME are so paranoid they'll miss the release date that they send them out early, same happened with Uncharted 2. :D

I've purposely not read very much on it other than the new characters and the new Ultras and suchlike, the rest will be a pleasant surprise, I've been bugging Jarlino over some of the details, no disappointment so far. =D

I'm very curious as to what has changed with Akuma, since all characters have been fine tuned and I'm a dedicated Akuma player. I just hope some of the cheap aspects of the game (like spamming a move that cannot be dodged or countered over and over) have been adjusted to give people a fighting chance.

I love the Arranged music option sooooo much! <3
(For those who haven't looked in the game: you can turn on this option to have rival music playing against every opponent you face)
Since Dudley is a widely played character, I get to hear that track a lot. <3

I think I'll buy myself a copy tomorrow. Not sure what to do with my standard Street Fighter 4, but I might just keep it as an untouched collectors item. :D

I think for £25, this is a bargain. There are so many new features that have been put into place, making it practically a brand new game.

10 new characters, extra stages, extra themes, being able to have custom soundtracks (PS3) and having the option to back up your save file now, is excellent.

I'm sold. :D

Mine arrived today...Wow...just...wow...

It's not like a special edition with about 2 features going for it, everything has been improved, things have been balanced out and nice little touches and attention to detail has been added like the S.I.N agent taking photos of your character during the car smashing, and the menu changing screens.

It feels very rewarding when you obtain new titles and features during the game, whereas in the original, all you unlocked where movies and at best, new characters, it's removed some of the main grinding aspects of the game, you don't have to play for another 90 hours just to get the title you already had the last time, all the good titles and icons are unlocked for your characters during the trial modes, and the colours and taunts unlocked during online play.

I'm yet to play all characters, but the new cast are highly enjoyable to fight against, fought against Cody, Ibuki, Hakkan and Dudley so far, but I think some people are shying away from the new ones and mastering them quietly offline for now.

Overall, even if you have the original, buy it anyway, there's a neat reward for people who own both games, but I assure you, its a totally different experience. :D

Cammy certainly has one of the best costumes! lol!!!!!!!!!!!! Gief is still anoying and guy isn't as good as he was in alpha three but it is all round a more ballanced game! any one who thought that SFIV was the best figting game ever, all i can say is you were wrong!!!!!!!

Jarlino: Dudley's is a remix of Third Strike, same for Makoto and Ibuki. Makoto's starts a little more light in SSFIV compared to her 3S version. Everyone else's are obvious SFII or Alpha remixes. Cody's is the only one that had a new remix of something else entirely. His Alpha 3 theme wasn't exactly awesome but saying that, I'm curious how they would have done it. I bet it exists as an initial version but scrapped later.

Yeah man. They had the art work aswell init. Saw it myself. Tbh i was suprised about Alex but not rolento. I though he was gonna anouce Hugo but it was Alex instead. They recon there will maybe more aswell. They may bring the roster to 40 characters.

The source i read it from i have no reason to doubt them as it's been correct 95% of the time.

I hope like J wong they Add Karin. That would be too much!!!:high5:

If anything Capcom should forget characters and sort out the BP and PP systems becuase I have been Extremly angry this evening over getting about 6 or 7 wins and getting about 60 PP then losing to one person and losing 70. You should get a set amount of points for winning or losing.

I know guys say because while doing 1895 with 978 victories ranked matches I was not unlocked the two titles that "Deep Fighter" that you have to win 301 matches to unlock it online and "perfection" that you have to win 501 matches to unlock it online ... I do not know how to explain this thing in my statistics tell me that I won 978 matches classified O___O who can help me I am missing only these two titles: '(

Got to say I love the japanese voices in this game, I`ve heard some voices I`ve heard and love in anime :D
And I love how the ending cutscenes for each of the characthers arcade is anime style :D
