Today I installed Resident Evil 5, the installation went just fine. When i start the game i first see a bunch of logo's and after that the screen turns black. The only thing i do see is the mouse pointer, which i can still move around.

I reinstalled DirectX and installed new videodrivers, no results
I tried changing some settings in the config.ini like resolution to 800x600 and various refreshrate settings. No results aswell.

I've read online that quite some people experienced similar problems with the Devil May Cry 4, but i can't find a good solution, so i'm hoping to get an answer here.

My specs:
WinXP x64 SP2
CPU E6850
4gb RAM
2x GeForce 8800 GT (Forceware 190.56)
DirectX 9.0c

Same here.
Second Capcom game on pc make problems. First was SF IV.

I think it was a failure that I buy an ATI and AMD hardware...

And i don't want to read this text here:

"The best thing to do is email support as they are in a better persition to help you.

The email is in my Sig Good luck."

It doesn't help!

My friend, i have a solution!

I don't why i do this, but it helps.
It is a codec/encoder problem.

The only thing i did was to reinstall the media player.

I have XP and reinstall windows media player 11. I hope it works! Good luck stranger!

My game does not start at all...

I get a different error depending of what I choose... DX9 or DX10.

Which one is it?
Do you start RE 5 with the launcher?

Guys, for technical support please contact our team at support@capcomeuro.com describing the error/problem you receive or experience in as much detail as possible and please remember to attach your dxdiag file - specs alone are not sufficient. We have a multilingual team that will be more than happy to help you in your mother tongue.

And the forum is only a place for smalltalk?

Hmm, sry but the problem/funny thing is that the support culdn't help last time. Same again with RE 5 and thank you for removing my post.

I solved the problem with Windows Vista, but I still have errors on Windows 7 RC...

I bought the game at the beginning of last week from amazon.fr

After installing (which went fine), the game won't launch. I use the launcher, but both starting the game in DX9 and DX10 just starts a black window (not even full screen) which just crashes after a few seconds, doing nothing but looking black.

If I click directly on RE5DX9.exe or RE5DX10.exe in the game folder, I get a cryptic error message.

I sent an email to feedback@capcomeuro.com, very detailed, with my dxdiag text file and screenshots of the crashing windows and the error message, and a detailed description of what I did to try and fix it.

I haven't gotten so much as an automatic reception reply, which most other companies have the good sense to send, like:

"we have received your email, our tech support team is taking care of it blah blah blah, you will hear from us soon"

Nothing like that, just radio silence. As for phone tech support, of course it's like a gazillion euros / minute, so screw that.

Anyway, I'd like some help with that problem. Otherwise I'm probably gonna spam tech support with my email by sending it again and again every day until I get an answer.
