I think if they did it with re1 they could do it with 2 and 3 aswell, what do you think guys ? next gen graphix remake resident evil 2 and 3 and make it just so amazing as they did in year 2003 with resident evil 1 :D omg that would be insane
But if they remake them both i think the resident evil 3 will be the big star ! since just try to imagine that big dude who comes and say STARS in next generation graphix and effects omg so insane, horror, and thriler rofl, i can imagine next gen graphix this game....holy sh..t... :D

Would be really great if they remade RE2, then I could finally play it too.
You know I never bought it on Gamecube, because everyone kept saying it would suck.
Anyway the remake could be planned already since the RE2 story was not in Umbrella Chronicles.
By the way they are also remaking RE Zero for Wii, although a RE 2 remake would probably be much more popular
(and because of that it would also sell better). It would be a lot more intelligent to remake RE2, I think.
Since I don t think Capcom guys are no-brainers they simply must be remaking it.

No need for a remake.
In five years youll be looking for a remake of the remake. And in another, a remake of the remake of the remake.
Just play the original.
Since Resi remake was a total success, it is very possible of a remake of Resi 2 and 3. and yes it would be very interesting and extremly cool to see Leon as he is in Resi 4 and Claire as she is in Degeneration. Even better to see William Birkin transform into that monster, and see his transformation in CGI this time and dont forget MR X he too would be cool in all new CGI. And an all new Jill Valentine even more super hot than the original 3rd game, and an all new Nemesis.

The question is not wether there s a need for a remake or not. It s about will it sell or not.
And believe me a RE2 or RE3 remake would sell.
And there is even less need for a RE Zero remake, since it s not that old, and still it s being made.
As I said, I would be surprised if they didn t at least plan it already.

Zero is not being re-made its going to be a slightly polished up GC port and only available in Japan.
I agree with Parjay. lets just move on with new Resi games instead of remakes.
Resident Evil Re-Birth did not sell well at all so why would Resi 2 re-make sell?

I agree with arjay and Spike 74...no need to remake any more of the games.
RE2 has been ported 7 times...do we really need ANOTHER version of it?
REmake was only made as a starter for the GameCube...to renew interest. If you are so obsessed with graphics that you refused to play RE2 when it was available, then dont bother playing it. It is essentially your own fault that you missed out.
I mean, seriously...7 versions are available...you have had 7 times to be able to buy it.
Sure, itd look nice...but id prefer Capcom to spend their time making new games for the new consoles, rather than remaking every game under the sun.
As Parjay said...theyd remake them, and in 5 years youd want a remake of the remake, etc.
Hell...if all of the titles bar Zero and REmake were remade...everybody would want REmake and Zero to be remade for the next-gen consoles. If all of their time was spent remaking the titles, theyd never be able to release a new game for the series.
Regardless of it being still playable; Im in a minority whod like it remade. Its one of my favourite games, and Id like it see it brought into this generation. Sure Zezo is pretty much an effortless port, and sort of transition from the GameCube that wont require too much money, and thus will probably make a fair bit. I want Resident Evil 2 in all its glory, and although its brilliant, I think it warrants a remake. The porting of it is fairly different, these were practically straight ports, I want a remade game. That said, how can it be made any better? One thing that worked for Capcom was that since the PlayStation could only really do distorted faces, it was an advantage for zombies as their faces were usually mangled and such - I liked the zombies in the Resident Evil 2 artwork, and if Capcom could reproduced something like that, and not like UC, Id be happy - thats only one problem among a few others.

Remake not 100 times, just 1 time, and yes as you said you can play 7 diferent resident evil 2 games, but all are almoust the same thing and the same graphix.
so when i mean resident evil remake that means that remake to next gen with a insane graphic engine, and realize the game as in your dreams, and make it a bit biger and more then it was before. same with resident evil 3.
since you see what happend to resident evil 4....and now 5...instead of residnet evil 6 wich can be called rambo 6, better just remake.
This is my opinion as a resdient evil oldschool fan.

Then why didn t they put the RE2 and RE3 stories in Umbrella Chronicles?
By the way I had only 1 chance to buy RE2: as an import for Gamecube
(for some reason I never saw it in stores at least, so I think it s not been released in Germany, am I right?)

You are becoming tiresome, rude and boring now.
You have repeated yourself on every damned topic available. we get it, you dont like RE4...and just because somebody else does...it doesnt mean you are a better person than they are.
I didnt say that the 7 versions of RE2 available were all different, i am just pointing out that RE2 has been released 7 times in total...a remake would just be yet another excuse to rip into Capcom. They get slated on a regular basis for porting old titles and just rehashing the same thing over and over.
RE2 does not need to be remade...you only want the graphical update. The storyline itself does not need to be changed to fit in with the rest of the series, like that of RE1...
There are no new locations that need to be or could be included in RE2 (especially with the release of several maps of the city, where you can clearly see that there is no room to add anything else to RE2), there are no new bits of information to be added, no new characters and no new events.
RE1 needed to be remade for several reasons:
1. The rest of the series had outgrown the original storyline, so the game needed to be updated to fit into the canon. You will see that even RE2 did not fit fully with the storyline of RE1, but now it fits better with REmake.
2. It was going to be released on a next-gen console, and Capcom would not have been able to garner ANY interest in the series by porting a graphically inferior game on the system. RE2, RE3 and CVX all look much better on the GC, but RE1 would have looked so poor that it would not have sold.
3. It was a Directors Cut. Mikami always wanted to make everything that is shown in REmake, but the PS1 could not handle all of that information back when it was made, so everything was scrapped. REmake offered Mikami the chance to finally include the original locations, all of the enemy types and the Trevor notes.
And where in my post did i even mention RE4 or RE5??? FFS, get over it...stop brining it up as an argument against somebody just because they dont agree with you.
I would buy a remake of those games, think about how good the REmake was... do that with next gen graphics, and also change some of the settings like how they altered the mansion in REmake. I dont normally agree with the people who are judging RE5 (or Rambo 6 in their view, not mine though) but a remake would sell well.

The only thing that could be updated would be the graphics.
There is no need and no possible way to add in any new locations. Any new addition to character lists, files, or locations would completely screw with what has been stated in every RE game set after RE2...which happens to be all but 2 of them...

Just play it on PS3 it looks a lot better in 50 HD 1080p upscale.
But the only people want the remake seem to be graphic whores.
The game is great as is a remake would only slow/halt production of new games.
MGS TTS did not sell as well as MGS1 and if anything felt worse.
Let Resi 2 remain a classic

Yes graphics change wouldnt be cool ? and how can you be sooo smart that you know exactly that they could NOT make a biger map or game from resident evil 2 ?. they just need one thing...thinking and make us a nice surprize, so if they remake all the first 3 resident evils, the main thing is that even you would play them on next gen graphics and effects, and some big or little changes.
I sad that its better to spend the time on something classisc then on this new rambo style. try to think a bit about what i said and maybe you get it mate.
the idea of cours...its not something super good or big but its something playeble and it would be a nice surprize , for me atlast.
And about the reamke of 1 , i dont know how you fell but the most original and best resident evil of all times was the 1st one, and i think that was one of the main reasons why they remaded it cause people loved the first resident evil, it was the most original resident evil of all times, atlast the felling what that game gave into players heart was something what i cant explain my self, it brought the survivoll horror for the first time in the world, and in 1996 as that big difference from donkey kong and mario 2d graphics games to go directly into 3d resident evil 1 game, wich had that time an uncredible story along the gameplay and graphics and stuff....
well anyway evry one got theyr own opinion, i just said my opinion about the remakes, and as we all know its all about sells. how many want it and how many dozent.
All the main idea about this topic is that if they started to remake 1, so they can finish the job till nr:3. we dont need 100 remakes and remake of the remakes we just need 1 clear nice big remake of evry of the first 3 resident evils, and re1 remake is such a wonderfull job. so 2 and 3 remains then we know atlast that we have 1,2,3 remaked any time we remember at the nice old classis times we can play them on a super amazing graphics and some major or litle changes.

But the first resident evils was on ps1 and that engine and picture stage or whatever it is its just to old and very very far away from being categorized as a game. + that i think that who loved re2 ( like messia) will finish it of course at last 2 more times having fun !
It is just an idea, so if you can chose Better or - Wross why chose Wross and not Better ? , the time what capcom would spend on the remakes aint our job or our personal problem in my opinion...thats why they are payed and they have loads of people who can work on the games.
