In the us and Asia and this game is huge and the forums (counterparts of forums like this) are packed with players talking about it. Whats more its very rare to find an arcade cab in our citys and towns.

I run a fairley big street fighter tourney website and despite advertising as many places as The site has 7 or so street fighters from the UK.

The only tourneys we have live seem to be in London seems silly.

:confused::blink::chin:

Yep, the arcade scene is dead in UK. All we play in 'arcades' are fruit machines, Sega Rally and Time Crisis.

That and the fact the consoles are getting newer fighting game releases IMO. And plying online is like playing in the arcade at home.

The only place where there is a decent Arcade for fighters in UK is probably the Casino. I really wish they could expand it to other various parts of London/UK.

its not just in terms of arcades but also on live and on websites its relitivley rare to find a uk gamer on a sf forum.

Look at this place for example and compare it with capcom unity.

Activity is between three or four users and one or two of them are kids (nothing wrong with that) but for theory fighting kids seem to say things like i like kens hp flaming srk

America has lots of online communities like srk and eventhubs and capcom unity all very active where as we really only have neo i think....

There's always the London Trocadero.

But the machines are always being used.........*cough*Tekken 6*cough*

Also the machines are pretty expensive compared to Casino.

Forum wise, it does suck. I do wish there were more people to talk about Street Fighter than a couple (but then again, it is better than no one).

Thats why I am not on the scene, because all the major things are in London. I heard about one in Glasgow and went though, got the floor wiped with me though, the Euro champ was there and his crew. After that horrible experience all I have found is London based events really.

Not a big fan of Glasgow myself, that is the first time I have went through in years. I won't ask what the personal reason are, there is probably a good reason you have not said.

I think I will give it a miss this time, have had no time to practice, so probably wouldn't be a good idea for me to go. Plus I am not to sure on the details, I looked on the site but it seemed a little vague.

There's a SFIV cabinet in Manchester if anyone wants to meet me for a match some time!

Zombiebrain, what's the name of your site?

Also, have you not heard of Neo Empire?

www.NeoEmpire.com

It's one of the largest communities for SF in Europe.

If you are Working and Family man it's rather hard to go anywhere outside your city (Sheffield).

I will be happy to attend but going to eg. London it's a quite expensive trip just to play SF4, not mentioning time consuming, etc. There is no arcade in Sheffield that i know (am i wrong ? ), so even just to hang out and play some random matches is a no no.
