Keiji Inafune (http://kotaku.com/tag/keiji-inafune/), creator of Mega Man and designer of Dead Rising, showed up at the studio of Halo developer Bungie.

Bungie, Inafune says, is an "amazing studio", and he was curious how Bungie made its titles to see if Capcom could ever add some of that je-ne-sais-pas to Capcom games. "I wanted to come down to Bungie in order to see just how well our philosophies on game design matched up," Inafune adds. "If things clicked, I know it would be interesting to collaborate together on a title in the future."

Interesting, indeed.

It could be interesting...

EDIT:

We posted the same thread, in different areas of the forum ^_^ Oops. So I merged them.

I saw on Facebook that someone from Capcom(I forget who) was at the Bungie offices. It made me kind of curious, but I thought nothing of it.

oh, gosh... i hate Halo with all myself, really
i hope Capcom will fill that collaboration with the usual quality of our beloved Capcom games!

While I love the Halo series, I doubt we'll see Capcom producing an FPS. I hope we see something 'un-Halo' from Bungie for once.

Interesting news, I think it would be pretty cool to see what a combined Capcom/Bungie team would come up with.

Street Fighter first person style ;) A kind of 3D streets of rage would appeal to me!

Even though I'm not too big on the previous Bungie games personally, it's definitively an interesting move by Capcom, and it seems that this is the next logical step to broaden their western audience, anyway.

take away microsoft and bungie would be useless basically. the only games they have out are halo games and that's thanks to the microsoft game studios. they need to get going on their own if they want to survive. which is why it's so interesting that capcom and them might be working together. i predict capcom will get its way and lead the production process, and bungie will be the followers.

You've got to remember that Bungie are fairly recent compared to alot of companies, they got lucky with Halo and have only had the resources to expand on the Halo Universe. The original concept for Halo was an RTS which was designed pre-Xbox. So they might've been successful otherwise. You've got to remember that when Halo was released, it was ground-breaking. Even if it was a PS2 game instead, it would've produced a fanbase regardless.
