i just seen a different version of resi 4, its just like the original classics, its in japanese and it looks really interesting. Leon even has a different coat as well its alot darker then the one he has in the other resi 4.

This is what we call Resident Evil 3.5 because it was the original idea for the game before Capcom scrapped it.
I suggest that this topic be allowed to die before it turns into another Resident Evil 3.5 is better than Resident Evil 4 - Capcom screwed up topic.

That version is called Illussions due to Leon mostly fighting against hallucinations caused by being infected.
There was also The Fog, Unamed, and Devil May Cry.
Devil May Cry was the original RE4, but was so far removed from the series that they just decided to make it into a seperate series.
The Fog was pretty much the first version most people heard about...with a trailer of Leon walking through a stormy castle, getting hurt, being chased by a black cloud of somekind, and the voice over mentioning the Progenitor virus.
Illusions is the one you have just linked, where Leon goes up against the hookman (early version of Dr. Salvador, kind of), possessed puppets and living suits of armour.
Each version slowly brings itself closer to what we have now. You can still see the links that DMC has to the series though.
Dante looked a lot like an older Leon when DMC first came out. It is set in a castle and other ruined buildings, you fight spiders and puppets, etc, etc.
I wish theyd leak some vids of the unknown RE4 beta that featured zombies.

Yeh, it was in an interview where it was described as a zombie version. It was the last version before RE4.
I was used to look at this very interested back in the day when I was playing RE Remake. then RE4 was changed with different camera angles. its a ruined game.

Cool. All id ever read was that the making of said that they started on another one, but that was it.
I figured there was, at some point, a zombie version...but never heard anything to back it up.

It would be cool to see this zombie beta.
This is really OLD! This is the reason I first thought resi 4 would be a great game... They screwed it.

Kobayashi-san: A version after "Fog" is known as the version with "Hooked Man", which was also introduced at E3. The next was a version with "Zombie", which we haven t released to the public.

Theres loads more stuff you can find on youtube and various fansites.
Original trailers, lost artwork, etc, etc.
All highly interesting, and mostly better than the RE4 we have now.
Though most of what youll find generally relates to Illusions, which was going too paranormal for my liking anyways.
Yeah, im not a big fan of beating a game only to see IT WAS ALL JUST A CRAZY DREEEAM!, It seemed like they where going the Haunted Grounds/ Clock tower direction, which is okay in small doses, an RE title would be too much.
I really want to see the return of the old school RE monsters, Zombies, lickers, Tyrants, Hunters, that type of thing.

Im not too bothered if Zombies never return...but i do miss the actual BOWs...
I wouldnt mind seeing a next-gen Licker, Hunter or Tyrant...the amount they would be able to do with the new systems is just...mind blowing.
But i think Capcom have left that all behind nowadays...which is a shame.
It seems though that Capcom migth bring some stuff from the RE4 prototype into RE5 with some minor diffrences.
According to some info RE4 prototype had Leon being infected which affected gameplay and causing hallucination.
In RE5 Light and Darkness affect visual and perhaps gameplay its been said Chris can get dehydrated which will cause hallucinations or Mirages.
Sound somewhat similar atleast?

Youll often find that Capcom never truly scrap an idea, they either put it into a new series...or store it until it can be used properly in the series it was designed for.
RE1.5 had the ability to find armour...which wasnt used until RE4, etc, etc.
I wonder if Capcom will introduce another thing that was gonna be in RE1.2
Ripped clothes,blood stains and scars?
When you hear like this it does not seems like a necsscary thing to have as its most likley wont progress story or affect gameplay.
But could be cool to see Chris clothes getting somewhat damaged in the heat of battle or leaving bloodstaind or bloody finger prints from enemies on them.
Or Chris getting scarred by schytes etc.
As said nothing nesscary but it could maybe add to the realism a bit cus it looked pretty cool in the RE1.5 videos I seen.
