...buy this game?

Just curious.
I love horror movies and games. In my opinion Fatal Frame/Project Zero series have been one of the greatiest and scariest of all but I have high expectations that this one is just gonna take it to the extreme.

I will have to play test that one first. I love Resi, Silent hill, fatal frame (sorry project zero) carrier and the like but film tie ins are usually rubbish. still, I'd rather play that than Saw the game (which could be the only thing worse than the films)

I wouldn't call this your average tie-in. It's a simulator rather than an outright Survival Horror. There is zero combat and it's more about exploration than anything else. It's also directed by Takashi Shimizu, the guy who created The Grudge films. You can be sure that he'll capture the atmosphere of his own films perfectly.
However, if you're the sort of person who cares for reviews, Famitsu gave it 22/40. Simulators are always aimed at a certain audience rather than being accessible to all.

I seen that review and I dont care. When I like horror games I like it for the scares not because if it has guns or not like most of the people care witch is pretty dumb in my opinion.

Aye, no one is a better critic than one's self. Renting isn't a difficult process so there are always ways to get the lowdown yourself.
If I had a Wii, I'd try this just on the premise that it's based on what would be my pick for best J-Horror film franchise, as well as being directed by the guy responsible for The Grudge films.
Also, it being a simulator rather than a generic Horror TPS is an exciting prospect for any Horror fan.

If it gets a release out here, I'll be getting myself a copy.
I'll also be getting Saw when it comes out, as I think it looks pretty decent for a film tie-in.
Wii game wise, I'm pretty sure there are a few others that look interesting...Calling or something, that one looks kind of like this, and seems interesting.
Also, Fragile looks fantastic, and I'd love to get a PAL version of it.
I'm pretty sure this is out on Halloween, so I'll be buying this for the night (going by NGamer).
Ummm, has anyone tried Cursed Mountain yet? I'm not sure about buying it...
I don't own a Wii, and I usually give a lot of credit for the reviews. 22/40 seems bad, but I've played games with bad reviews and ended up enjoying them and not agreeing with the grade. :)

Every reviewer has some form of bias or personal opinion going in to a game. It's impossible to have a complete and utterly open mind in that regards.
Heck, Bionic Commando flopped and was somewhat panned by critics, yet I'd still regard it as one of the best games I've played this year. ;]
Yeah! I read a magazine called Edge in the uk. its a great mag in terms of highlighting the technical and creative side of the industry but it tends to have a bias towards non linea western 360 games. it takes something awesome like mario galaxy or okami to garner a good review for a non 360 game. it just all comes down to the tastes of the review team. the best way to get an idea of weather or not you will like something is to look on a genre specific site. these are usually run by guys who share the same tastes as you and will give you an idea of the quality of the product as a bench mark of the genre.
