Communication from official PAX sources indicate that the show may have been home to an infestation of the H1N1 flu virus (http://www.cdc.gov/h1n1flu/), more commonly known as the Swine Flu (http://kotaku.com/tag/swine-flu/), with Penny Arcade reps urging attendees to monitor symptoms.
The official PAX Twitter account wrote today "Just heard of our first test-confirmed swine flu case at the show. PLEASE if you feel symptoms (fever, etc) go to the doctor." That's potentially alarming news for the approximately 60,000-plus estimated attendees of this year's Penny Arcade Expo (http://kotaku.com/tag/penny-arcade-expo/). We contacted Penny Arcade reps to get more details on the reports of Swine Flu.
"This is the real thing. If you get this number of people together in this close a proximity it is the perfect storm for these kind of wild fire virus spreads," Penny Arcade's Robert Khoo told Kotaku. "We just want to make sure everyone is informed."

Not that Swine Flu is actually that dangerous anyway.

Every person that has died so far has had "underlying health issues" to begin with, so if you are healthy...then you'll just get what feels like a really bad flu.

Death estimates by our government alone have dropped from 60,000+ to 19,000 and even then it is expected to drop to below 3,000 which is far less than the number of people that die from the common flu every year.

Well, yeah, when it was declared an epidemic, you had the horrific vision of the streets lined with dead, big red "x"s on doors and men in anti-viral suits. Instead, it was really a few people in bed with a box of kleenex and a bottle of lucozade...

But venues like this are large and thus likely to have a few infected persons in the earlier stages, but I'd assume that PAX have installed the right measures to insure things are kept under control, such as anti-bacterial dispensers.

I know it's not particularly deadly. But nobody really wants it, like regular flu. But, the building must be one to 'recycle' air, so any of the virus floating around will be pumped straight back into the room, where other people have it/have come in contact with it.

It'd just be rather unpleasant to have it.
