My favorite manga would have to be Naruto, Bleach and Shaman King!
Naruto has great picture and an awsome story.
Bleach has a better story but not as good pictures.
I've only watched a couple of the Shaman King anime and loved it witch says a lot but i'm going too start reading the manga.

Awsome story? Naruto?
You are talking about THAT Naruto? The on wihch to revenge his brother someone wants to destroy what his brother protected?
One Piece, but there already is a thread like this.
Death Note, Bleach, Battle Royale, Hellsing, Chobits, Ghost In The Shell, D.Gray-Man and Dragon Ball Z are all my favourites.
One Piece.
That's it. Best series ever.
Masashi Kishimoto (Naruto) is an awesome illustrator. his drawings are sharp and detailed and so dynamic. but in terms of story and suspense my favorites are Bleach, death note , trigun maximum and Shaman king! for shear hilarity its got to be those who hunt elves. if you haven't read it it is one of the most bonkers and silly stories you will ever read!
Death Note.
It's the smart man's manga.
I was never tempted by the manga universe :chin:
manga is awesome! i love western comics like hellboy, batman and xmen too!
Death Note.
It's the smart man's manga.I once owned a dog that was smarter then him.
The only one thing interesting in that manga is the Death note. The story is full of stupid thing and reasoning without any logic that are correct just because the author knew it.
I'm a big fan of comics too, no shame in liking both, I cant understand why some purposely to limit themselves to one or the other, both have their gems and flops
I absolutely enjoy the works of Alan Moore, Frank Miller and Robert Kirkman.

I agree, Light was smart, but very lucky in most plot convenient ways, it could have ended in volume two if you think about it...
But it was very good while it lasted, even though it was mostly "set pieces", overall it was very thought provoking.
I still reckon the author was trying too hard from volume 7 onward though, during the final chapters, nothing smart was going on at all, no big finale, just something crudely put together to suffice.

For what it's worth, I'm not a big fan of Naruto, no offense to you guys on the boards - I do not know you and I am not judging you, but the fanbase has spoiled it for me in general, plus I can't stand the obnoxious lead. I found Bleach was far more appealing, I wouldn't call it more "Adult", per sé, but far more down to earth, I like how the story is going and the time between volumes makes it something to look forward to.

O RLY?
I think as you get further on in the manga everything started to get to his head. It's more his mind is at stress than that he's thick. I'm mean I'm pretty sure he could beat James Bond at a wit-off at the very least. Maybe not Batman though.
Dragonball Z, I know it almost by hard... or, as good as I know the Bible, possibly, just that Akira Toryama is not my God and thus certain various feedbacks on detail issues fail to apply on the respective DBZ knowledge, but... the rest...
O RLY?You should say "He must have taught you everything you know." (Monkey Island)
there are a few bits in death note where light has relied on luck more than most people would have but on the whole the story (especially the battle of wits between Light and L) is very intelegent. The way light gives up his memories of the death note (having set up a plan to regain them later) to clear his name is particularly clever. I enjoyed it. It was well a well paced thriller, it may stretch real world probability a bit thin at times but why read manga if you want to be constarined by the real world?
So tell us II arrows, What constitutes good manga to you? (plaese dont say something like Battle Royal.)

I agree. you see i always read the manga before watching an anime. this is the way the author wished it to be seen where as the anime is how an annimation studio has interpreted it. This is how i came to appreciate naruto. Masashi Kishimoto is one of the best manga-ka around. his illustrations are so detailed and dynamic. but anime wise dante2014 is 100% right. naruto is highly annoying (seriously, what is that voice all about?) there are far to many boring filler episodes and it has atracted a fan base of trendy, emo tweens who are just as annoying as naruto himself. Tite Kubo (Bleach) is a far better story teller. Bleach is fulll of action, drama and the odd twist that completley blindsides you (Tosen? didn't see that coming) but i can still appreciate Kishimoto's artistic ability.
Anyway, seriously guys, look up Those who hunt elves by yu yugami! It's very funny and full of toungue in cheek, saucy humour (Think benny hill does manga).
Deathnote is an awesome Manga, I wouldn't say my favourite because I prefered the anime to it but it is certainly very good.
Battle Royal is proberbly my favourite manga, partially because its so extreame, yet is still one of those things that may not even be too farfetched, unlike Bleach or Naruto, its far more thought provoking which is what makes it so intresting.
I Dont get the whole battle royal thing! like most gekiga (Ultra violent) manga, it's just gore! the story is flimsy, the charaters are unintresting and the attempt at creating emotional tension in the characters is just week. It's the manga equivilent of watching Saw!

the thread is for suggesting our favourite manga, not slagging each others tastes off, come one guys!! as vash would say LOVE AND PEACE!!
I don't think anyone was being slagged off, we were just sharing each others likes and dislikes! what are your favorite manga's 'Ryuzaki? (appart from trigun, which is awesome!) :giggle:
I've never really read Trigun. I've watched the first few episodes of the anime. I quite enjoyed it, but I've never really got round to watching any more. Same with FullMetal Alchemist and Bleach and Naruto and Negima?! and Chobits.

I got a few that havnt been mentioned, Initial D and Beck mogolian chop squad although I must say these both work better as anime.
Also as a comicbook I like Kick-ass (bring on the movie) and the graphic novel versions of Metal Gear Solid

Trigun is awesome but even better is the sequal trigun maximum. It's plot is a little thin but it is full of impressive set pieces and icey cool john woo style action gunplay.
Also Check out Peacemaker Kuregami, by the sword, Dorroro and one piece.
