I searched the forum, but nobody seemed to have heard about this...so i figured id let you all know.
BioShock 2 has been announced.
Quite how 2K will pull it off, i do not know. BioShock was a great game, but not as amazing as 2K tried to make us believe...so still quite a disappointment really.
Some people are suggesting a prequel rather than a sequel...but i feel this would ruin the atmosphere and main point behind the first game.
I dont really know what to think about this announcement...
Loved bioshock so anther one is more than welcome

As great as BioShock was...the replay value is minimal...and there really wasnt anything new in the game (imo).
2K tried to convince us that it would be a genre breaking FPS, with nothing generic in it...
They repeatedly said they wouldnt have anything like endless concrete corridors and aliens, etc...but about halfway through i kept thinking Oh look...water. and it got a tad boring and repetitive.
Hopefully a BioShock 2 can improve on these problems...though i expect the game will probably be more action, more plasmids, more weapons and upgrades...and bigger big daddies...
If I were the creator of BioShock, I might have gone a different way with it.
Quite an impressive game with decent graphics (providing you have a card that supports Pixel Shader 3.0 or an Xbox 360), but it is repetitive in places, a second game is welcome on the PC so long as they dont include that pathetic SecuRom with it.

bleh.. I think Bioshock was crap.
it had cheesy enemy models.. and I just.. its another one of those Doom 3 games.
I found it to be very disappointing. System Shock 2 was as boring, but it had good soundtrack, so it turned out fine.
but cmon. it has got to be one of the most overrated games ever made. one of the most disappointing games Ive bought of 2007. Id rather chill and play some ET for Atari or Big Rigs than play this game again.
SecuRom is anti-piracy software.
When you install BioShock on a PC, SecuRom is installed automatically and against the users consent.
Now...
When BioShock is uninstalled, SecuRom remains on the users PC and is very difficult to remove.
You see, each individual can only install BioShock 5 times (so, 5 different computers basically), when you uninstall it, you get 1 of those 5 back and can therefore install it on a different computer (this isnt associated with SecuRom, but is another reason why I never bought BioShock on the PC, because people were never able to claim back their installs when they uninstalled it).
Much like iTunes, you can have 5 audible accounts on iTunes, so you can authorise 5 different computers to play iTunes protected music.
SecuRom checks to make sure that the BioShock DVD in your drive is legitimate (no argument about that, its just the fact that its installed without consent and cannot be removed, without undertaking a long process, which the novice PC user would not understand), which prompted people to complain about 2K infringing on their right to privacy and the fact that it is illegal for anyone to put anything on your hard drive without your consent.

I just seem to like colorful games. I dont like dark games like Doom 3.. or even The Darkness which I bought for PS3.. cmon.. why am I the monster in The Darkness!? fighting people.. thats so lame. I wish there was another game like Nightmare Creatures 2. a dead and rotten dude against bunks of stupid monsters. now thats something I like.
anyway, in Bioshock.. I dont seem to like the graphics. and the idea. ANYONE in the entire world could come up with something like Bioshock.. and everyone calls that game beautiful art
Bioshock is a Doom 3. I could as well play Doom 3 and Id be playing Bioshock.
I know what you mean, the dark, repetitive FPS.

BioShock.
Serious Sam.
Pain Killer.
All the same basically, level starts, walk around, kill kill kill, end of level, repeat.
Boring to me, appeals to some people though, these types of games seem to have no replay value.

i personally prefered half life 2 2 be honest over the more obvious bioshock (which is ok) and halo 3 (the most over-rated game of all time). hl2 had more replay value, better level design, better enemy design, better story, better everything. i also would much prefer the new release of farcry 2 rather than gears of war 2 as fc2 will hav THE BEST GRAPHICS EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would like to play the system shock games but my PC wont play them, yes my PC is a dinosaur. Also I dont like to game on a PC give me consoles any day.

I understand, you dont even need to explain.
PC gaming requires that you constantly upgrade in order to be able to play the latest games, when your PC is out of date, youve had it, technology just keep rolling on, either stay in front, or get squashed.
Whereas with a console, you put in the game and hey presto, it works, no need to upgrade, just put in the disc and play.
True I buy a console and i am good for what 4,5,6 years or however long they make games for it without worrying about if they will play

It is a shame that PC gaming costs so much.
You can try and do it cheaply...but it just doesnt work too good.

lol. thats because youre a noob not able to creat a good own customized PC. (Im sorry, but Im also a PC noob :()
but my bro has made 4 really good customized PCs which can run Crysis and CoD4 on full speed. and 1 extra PC created by useless parts, it can barely play CS: Source.
BUT, these customized PCs sometimes can be a pain in the ass, like all the power in my house going off, or over heating.. and when it over heats it usually takes hours to be turned on again.

my dad.. and hes a workaholic. hes friggin rich as hell and he could stop working right now and have a lot of money to do whatever he wants. and the house we live in is huge. but the electricity is sh**.. always turning off. specially inside my bros room, lol. but, cmon. these super PCs are great.. they over heat when theyre on for like 2 weeks.. we always keep them on at nights because of.. down.. loa.. imagine the last word.
