I have always found i am better the stronger, wrestling based characters like zangief. I find his moves much easier to pull off and his high power makes for a quick win.
Which type of fighting styles do you prefer?
I have to admit that I'm a ken player these days. I always used to use Chun li back in SF 2 and Third strike but i felt they ruined her in the alpha series so I switched to Ken. I quite like akuma in SF 4 but he's a bit cheap. online i switch between Ken and Chunli!
at this point Chun-Li only player.

I used to play as Rolento and Yun a lot but now I have to stick to either Sagat or Abel. I do try and use non-recurring characters but Sagat is just overpowered to it does make it easier to win in the Arcades.
He is a bit cheap in some ways. I have just found out after playing a random character match with my mate on friday night that I am pretty good with Cammy too!

I use to use Ryu but now I find myself playing as Blanka. I prefer his overall style and it also makes a change, since most people go Ryu style characters.

I don't understand why people resort to the shoto scrub excuse. I paid £40 for the gme, that in turn should allow me to use whoever I want. I played as Ryu all my life so it's only natural I use someone I'm strong/comfortable with.

No one is telling you not to play as Ryu, I personally like the guy, just saying that Ryu-style characters are the most common online, which is true without doubt.

I know man. :) I do try and play as Fei Long sometimes.
Yeah! there are loads of guys playing as ryu style fighters! I have played as Ken since the 90's and i'm good with him but i get a bit bored with Ken, Ryu and Akuma online. I will usually switch to Chun Li or Fei Long (although I now prefer cammy!). for some reason i have never felt all that comfortable with either Blanka or Zangief and I just plain cant use Vega and Guile (I really hate thier super and ultra moves, they don't feel natural!) the good news with the masses of Ryu style players online is that as the game gets older, most of them will get bored and drift off. The hardcore players (i.e the kind of players who have been playing consistently since SF II) will remain and the balance of characters will even out.
Real players online would go for the random option. Personally, I used either Cammy (usually), Fei-long, Abel or any of the charge ups. The very odd time I use Dhalsim and very rarely use shoto/Sagat. Not too comfortable with the other Newcomers and Alpha chars.

If you were online you might have been that one Fei Long player, the only one I have ever seen haha :p.

Sadly it is in London so no way I would be able to make it, sorry :(.
I've been wanting to join it but isn't it only for 18 and over?
Also I don't have my own joypads/sticks for any of those games. Maybe I should get one so it is PC and PS3/360 compatible (though if they add Tatsunoko vs Capcom next year, I might join).

Yeah well kind of Chun is my main she's a bit half and half.
Loads of shoto's in g1 fighting ryu gets a bit dull after a while, :bash:
Some people think chargers are dull and a bit defensive but thats cause they havent come up against a well played charger.
Chun li is my second choise after ken! i like the charge moves against characters like zangief who rely on getting close. i can play quite tactically with chun against close range characters. however, i am useless with guile and vega.

I have discovered that i am pretty dawm good with C.Viper mostly cause she is really quick and once you throw the move its hard for the opposition to dodge or block. She is also really hot andi like it when she fights and jiggles her boobies!!!

she very quick and a tricky match. but man is she hard to master have you done her hard trials :eek: my god are they tough.
If its quick and nasty you want cammys your girl (ass man):p
Sakura! Challenging character to play, but its just so much fun^^
As secondary characters i use Ryu and trying to learn Zangief :3
sakura is awesome! She is quick, hard to hit, can strike past most guards and her ultra is very powerful! plus she has the whole japanese school irl thing going which is cool!
