View Full Version : Umbrella Chronicles 2 anyone?

Anyone else think it would be a great idea to see an Umbrella Chronicles 2? I think theyve left it wide open for a sequel. Obviously UC focused on RE 0, 1 and 3 with the main characters being Wesker, Chris and Jill I suppose; UC 2 could focus on RE 2, Code Veronica X and 4 with the main characters being Wesker again (obviously because hes a legend, and even though he only really features in CVX, Im sure they could find some way to have him in the background on 2 and 4), Leon and Claire. Also they left open the possibility to involve the White Queen (which was shown briefly in one of the cut scenes in one of Weskers missions).
I really enjoyed UC and thought it was great with 2 players - lots of replay value and a good balance between focus on single player and 2 player. Id love to see it, as long as they reduce the size of the reloading animation.
Dave
sounds like a great idea! especiallly as they tried to fill some story gaps between the single volumes... i think after that success of selling UC 1 mio. times they might actually think of an other title !?!

I agree you friend and I think Leon S. Kennedy is the best of Resident Evil Characters Ever :d
it would have to have Resident Evil Survivor Remake in it.
as for myself, i would be interested to see some elements of survivor in it, although it is entitled the worst RE ever... but then they could also use outbreak 1 & 2. and even if one has read the wesker files, i think one knows not enough about him... hes really interesting...

I was highly disapointed with Umbrella Chronicles...rather than filling in gaps, it basically tried to say that everything we have previously played in 0, 1 and 3 was a complete lie and none of it ever happened.
It was a poor attempt at making a horror game for the Wii and was aimed at lightgun fans and the new fans of the series that were introduced by RE4 and couldnt be bothered to play the originals.
Yes, it was fun. Yes it is a good Lightgun game...but it is NOT a good Resident Evil game, neither would i ever like to see anybody ever try to claim it all to be canon. I think i would honestly hate to see a second in the series...because it would undoubtedly ruin the storyline of the best game in the universe, Resident Evil 2...
well, for one thing it DID happen... with raccoons ending it shouldve looked like an accident... and i think RE2 isnt the best of all, may be a bit better than RE1. although i must say that RE1 remake took me by surprise, it was really good increased.
Horrible idea. UC did its purpose, explain how Umbrella fell.

Theyre the creators of the franchise - not you. That means they are the ones who say what happens. The story that we have already experienced in previous games, such as RE1, 3 and Zero are merely CliffNotes versions - summarised for simplicity and to make the game fun. The extra content, including Umbrellas Downfall, Adas Escape etc. can safely be considered canon - they dont mess around with anything and tie in with almost all the other games too.
On top of that, UC did extremely well and exceeded Capcoms projections, so I think well see a sequel of some sort.

Yea it was sold over 1.000.000 times so there will be one probably. But they must think about a good story now, chronicles was like a Story-Gap filler, but now we now what happened between all the Resi parts, except between 2 and 4 ( about Leon ), between 2 and CV ( about Claire ) and between 4 and 5. Maybe they ll just make a new Resi game, like Gun Survivor 3 or somethin like that.

I am fully aware of the fact that THEY create the storyline, Universe, etc, etc...But surely i cannot be the only person that got annoyed with the fact that the RE3 scenario didnt even go with the actual RE3?
And the REmake and Zero scenarios just completely screwed with everything we learnt in the origial games?
I will admit, the extra scenarios about Wesker and all the other extra information was certainly useful and interesting, but did Capcom really have to turn around and just create more havoc with the already haphazardly built universe?
And plus, this is all ofcourse just my opinion, nobody has to agree with it...just accept that im not gunna change my opinion on the game. :P
well, i was first confused, too, as i played zero, but the hole story is rather mad. i mean, zero plays a little before RE1, almost parallel.
and of course i was very upset about the movies because they had in RE1 parts of RE1 and RE2, then in RE2 movie they took RE3 and a bit of silent hill (schoolscene) and RE3 was something new with parts of RE2 (tyrant, claire) and RE3 (carlos)... i think the movies are even more confusing than the games, and they are awesome!

The game timeline is easy enough to understand when you know which order they go in (and when you play them as much as i do). Problems only arise when you consider the release order, and how many plotholes Capcom have created just by trying to fill in a very small number of plotholes in the beginning.
Resident Evil Zero
Resident Evil REmake
Resident Evil Outbreak File 1&2 start
Resident Evil 3 Part 1
Resident Evil 2
Resident Evil 3 Part 2
Resident Evil Gun Survivor 1
Resident Evil Code Veronica X
Resident Evil Gun Survivor 2 Code Veronica X
Resident Evil: Dead Aim
Resident Evil 4
Umbrella Chronicles can be placed at near enough every point from Zero to 3, with i think Weskers scenarios taking place around the same time as Dead Aim.

Here goes -
Resident Evil Zero:
S.T.A.R.S Bravo team are sent to the Arklay Mountain range to investigate several cannibalistic murders on hikers. Bravo teams helicopter crash lands.
Bravo team split up in the search for clues. Rebbecca Chambers (Main character number 1) discovers the Ecliptic Express (a train owned by Umbrella) and finds everyone on board dead. The dead come back to life, Rebbecca meets Billy Cohen (Main character number 2) and they explore the train.
Throughout the night they go from the train derailment to the Umbrella Training Facility, to a hidden laboratory, to a sewage treatment plant to a large dam like facility. During this journey they learn about Umbrella, the T-virus and the creation/creator of the T-virus, Dr. James Marcus. Marcus was assassinated by Umbrella and then reanimated by his own virus infected leeches. He caused the initial outbreak in the Arklay Mountains.
Resident Evil 1 - REmake:
Exactly 24 hours after Bravo team are sent out, Alpha team are sent out. They discover the crashed helicopter of Bravo team, and the dead body of the pilot. Chris Redfield (Main character 1), Jill Valentine (Main character 2), Barry Burton and Albert Wesker get attacked by a pack of zombie dogs. They run into a nearby mansion.
Chris, Jill, Barry and Wesker get slit up and start to explore the mansion. Jill and Chris discover several dead members of Bravo team, along with Rebbecca Chambers (alive) and Enrico Marini (Alive until shot in the heart). Jill, Chris and Rebbecca discover that Umbrella is behind everything whilst uncovering a seceret laboratory hidden underneath both the mansion and the guard house. Albert Wesker uses Barry to betray Chris, Jill and Rebbecca and Barry forever regrets it. Albert Wesker unleahes the Tyrant and is then promptly killed. Jill, Chris, Rebbecca and Barry fight and kill the Tyrant and are then saved by Alpha teams pilot just before the entire mansion and hidden laboratories blow up.
Resident Evil 2:
Almost exactly 3 months after the events of RE1, Leon S. Kennedy (Main character 1) and Claire Redfield (Main character 2) seperately make their way into Raccoon City. They find it to be infected with zombies, and happen to meet eachother. Claire is looking for her brother (Chris Redfield from RE1), and Leon was about to start his first day as a Police Officer.
Leon and Claire get split up only minutes after meeting, but both work their way to the police station to meet up. They find the entire city is infected, so decide to search for survivors and then escape.
Leon meets Ada Wong, Claire meets Sherry Birkin. Both discover that Umbrella is behind all of it. Upon leaving the police station, they enter the sewers, then head into a secret laboratory underneath the city. They discover that Umbrella sent a team to assassinate William Birkin (Sherrys father) and steal his creation, the T-virus. This event caused the spill, spread and infection of the entire city.
Leon discovers that Ada is a spy sent by The Agency to retrieve a sample of the G-virus. Leon watches Ada die at the hands of Mr X (A tyrant), and retreats to safety.
The infected William Birkin infects Sherry. Claire creates an antidote and saves Sherry.
Leon battles Mr X and is saved by someone in the shadows that looks remarkably like Ada.
Leon, Claire and Sherry escape the laboratory and defeat William Birkin. The laboratory self destructs.

Resident Evil 3:
Set several days before and several days after the events of RE2, this game can be split into 2 and follows the survival of Jill Valentine (Main Character 1) and Carlos Oliviera (Main Character 2).
Part 1 - Jill Valentine escapes a burning building and an onslaught of zombies. She vows to escape the city and take down Umbrella. On her travels she encounters Brad Vickers, and later watches him die at the hands of Nemesis at the entrance to the Police Station. She later meets up with Carlos Oliviera, a member of the Umbrella Biohazard Countermeasure Service (U.B.C.S.), and teams up with him and 2 other U.B.C.S. survivors (Mikhail Victor and Nicholai Ginovaef). They plan to take the City tram way to the evacuation point and leave the city for good. Nicholai, Carlos and Jill split up (leaving Mikhail at the tram) and search for the parts needed to get the tram moving.
After several encounters with Nemesis and the death of Nicholai, Jill and Carlos make their way back to the tram and head towards the clock tower.
Nemesis attacks the tram and Mikhail sacrifices himself to save the other 2. The tram, badly damaged, crashes into the side of the clock tower.
To evacuate from the tower, the church bell needs to be rung. Jill and Carlos team up to solve various puzzles that eventually activate the bell. The arrival of the helicopter also brings the arrival of Nemesis. Nemesis shoots down the helicopter, destroying about half of the clock tower, and then infects Jill. Jill and Carlos battle Nemesis, and then Jill collapses.
Part 2 - Several days later, Jill wakes knowing that she is infected. Carlos leaves her in a safe place and heads towards the Hospital for an vaccine. Carlos discovers the vaccine and 2 U.B.C.S. survivors, Nicholai Ginovaef (who earlier faked his death) and Tyrell Patrick. Nicholai and Tyrell battle. Tyrell dies, and Nicholai escapes, setting C4 explosives around the Hospital. Carlos escapes the hospital with the vaccine and his life. He saves Jill.
Jill heads out towards the park and industrial complex. She finds herself in the cemetary where she discovers that Nicholai is indeed a traitor and that Raccoon City will be destroyed in several hours. Nicholai runs away, Jill battles a giant worm. Jill now heads to the Industrial Complex that turns out to be owned by Umbrella.
After fighting Nemesis and destroying his body with acid, Jill opens the exit just in time to watch Nicholai leave with the only helicopter. Jill and Carlos recieve a transmission from an unknown pilot telling them to get to the helipad. Jill and Carlos head into a large room with a laser weapon stored inside. Nemesis returns for a final battle where Jill resets the weapon and blows Nemesis to smithereens.
Jill and Carlos are rescued by the unknown pilot who turns out to be Barry Burton from RE1.
Resident Evil - Code Veronica X:
3 months after the destruction of Raccoon City, Claire Redfield (Main character 1) storms Umbrellas France HQ and is captured. She is taken to Rockfort Island, an Umbrella owned prison and training camp.
The island is bombed by an unknown group. Claire is set free by her captor, Rodrigo Juan Raval. She discovers that the bombs released the T-virus and infected near enough everyone on the island. She meets Steve Burnside (Main character 2) who informs her of an airplane hangar that could get them off the island. He runs away.
Claire explores the island, discovering laboratories, 2 mansions and several other horrible areas. She discovers a way to leave a message for her brother, telling him where they are and what is going on. She is later attacked by Alfred Ashford, head of the island and relative of one of the 3 founders of Umbrella. He decides that it is her fault that the island was attacked.
Steve and Claire learn that Alfred has a twin sister, Alexia, who lives hidden in the secret mansion. Claire and Steve make their way to this secret mansion and later discover that Alfred was actually posing as Alexia as she had died when she was a child. Though it later turns out that she did not die, she was frozen in stasis with a new strain of the T-virus flowing through her body. The T-Veronica-Virus.
Before escaping the island, Claire is attacked by Albert Wesker, who has been reborn with superhuman powers. He leaves Claire alone, and both Claire and Steve escape the island, on a plane, just as it blows up.
Claire and Steve discover that the plane is now being autopiloted to Antarctica. The plane crashes on the runway and they find themselves in another hidden Umbrella base. Claire and Steve try to escape and kill Alfred in the process. He stays alive long enough to watch his sister leave stasis. Alexia Ashford uses her new found powers to stop Claire and Steve from escaping.
Chris Redfield gets onto Rockfort Island not long after it has blown up. He discovers that Claire has escaped, but the plane has been autopiloted to Antarctica. Chris is also attacked by Wesker, but the battle ends when a mysterious woman contacts him.
Chris finds his way to the Umbrella base and rescues Claire. A battle ensues etween Alexia and Wesker, whilst Claire goes to save Steve.
Steve mutates and attacks Claire, but then stops himself and is killed. He turns back into a human and dies in Claires arms.
Chris helps Claire and they head off to escape before the base is blown up. Chris defeats Alexia in a final battle, but is then halted by Wesker. Chris and Wesker fight, but Chris is losing. Wesker is stopped by an explosion. Chris and Claire escape in a Harrier Jump Jet and vow to take down Umbrella whilst Wesker laughs manically as the entire place blows up around him.
Only a few more to go, but i will write those up later :) i hope this is helping people...

noit exactly the T-Virus but the new G-Virus, even more powerful and able to let the infected person set embryos into their victims to secure survival. these embryos hatch out of the carrier and grow in a few minutes adult. they copy the dna of their carrier and change it.

Yeah, this was a problem for me too, I noticed it was mostly paraphrased stuff with very little new stuff that most people already assumed, I only valued it as being a bit of softcore fun with a gun.

My mistake, i meant to say G-virus, but was very tired when i got round to writing this thing up. T and G are very close on a QWERTY keyboard :P
Thankyou for the correction though, much appreciated. I am, however, fully aware of the power of the G-virus :D

19-03-08, 16:28
thezommbiemessia really thanks to you .. :) :)
the T-Virus was the first officially tested Virus, based on researches from Dr. Marcus (RE0). It caused the degeneration of humanbeings and created accidently the first zombies. also was with it created the first Tyrant.
The G-Virus is an increasement of the T-Virus, which should probands make more powerful and faster. with the G-Virus the Carrier is enabled to plant embryos in his victims to breed more of his sort. it also lets the carrier mutant several times and attacks cause severe damage.
also it affects the brain less than the T-Virus, cause the infected is still able to think in some kinda way.
thats as much as i know, maybe the others can add some facts ive forgotten?

The T-virus is an RNA virus enhanced with Leech DNA (Dr Marcus) and later strands of the Ebola Virus (Dr Birkin). It attacks the hosts brain and decomposes the body as fuel to keep the virus alive.
Unless mixed with another type of DNA when creating BOWs, it will generally just transform the host into a zombie...unless they have the right genetic type and will turn into a Tyrant. Tyrants are rare, which is why Umbrella strive to create the perfect mass-produceable Tyrant (The T-103 is the first and i believe only mass produceable Tyrant so far).
It was created by adding Leech DNA to the Progenitor Virus, etc.
The G-virus could be considered an upgrade of the T-virus, but is better explained as the culmination of nearly every virus Umbrella ever used. Dr Birkin discovered an early form of the G-virus inside Lisa Trevor, after she had been experimented on hundreds of times. She had inside her Progenitor Type A & B, The Nemesis parasite (NE-T-Virus) and the T-virus itself, along with possibly hundreds of unknown and unamed viruses. These fused together (with the final inclusions of the Nemesis parasite) to create the early version of the G-virus.
Whilst the T-virus attacks the body of the host (and only very rarely or very late into the infection the genes of the host), the G-virus automatically attacks the hosts DNA, causing massive mutation. However, the mutations will only occur when the host is damaged. Birkin transformed so fast due to the bullet wounds inflicted by HUNKs team, and later went on to mutate even more due to battles with Leon, Claire, etc.
The G-virus does not completely attack the brain, but little bits will be changed to make the host want or need to spread its seed, hence why Birkin constantly tracks Sherry, and is often reported to have stalked and attacked several blonde haired women around the city.
As far as i know, the G-virus is hugely powerful, but limited to who and what it can infect after the initial infection. It is never explained if the virus can ever be airborn or transferable via water, like the T-virus...but it is safe to assume that it cant, otherwise we would have seen more G mutations throughout the course of RE2, RE3 and the Outbreak games.
even IF the g-virus spread itself with water and air there wouldnt be that much zombies left,i think... not every dna is predestined to carry the virus. the most wouldve died. and eventually there would only be tyrants. horrible imagination...think of a place with only tyrants to kill... damn, sounds like hell, doesnt it?

have you ever played Parasite Eve 2?? after getting thru and starting new you can choose some mods: e.g. more bounty, new weapons or everywhere hidden cyborgs.
if you choose the cyborgs they kick your as at the very beginning of the game. its the hardest mode ive ever played. it would be like this, with all the tyrants... and now think of the beginning of RE... just the handgun and hundreds of tyrants!

couldnt agree with you more
Umbrella Chronicles showed us how Umbrella Fell and that was it, the end.
However if they were to do something along the lines of UC, then they could probably continue the storyline of Wesker and show us what he did with the world after UC. Or perhaps have Jill and Chris track down Wesker and kick is sorry ass
ps: Bring RE5 To Wii
Well, as UC sold over 900k copies, Im sure theyre be another one.

Maybe they do need to be careful with the storyline if they do UC2, but I think it can be done. Im a big fan of Resident Evil, and I love UC, even so, I know its not a proper RE game, but I think it was good nevertheless. Besides, any game with Wesker in has my vote.
Thing is, I think Capcom need to move the story forward, they cant harp on about Umbrella forever, now maybe they need a new malevolent corporation, and maybe Weskers the man to do it. So, I know UC served its purpose by showing how Umbrella fell, but that doesnt mean UC2 couldnt have a new purpose all of its own. It could really help move the storyline of the series forward if done properly.
