he there, i heard and saw something about a new cg made movie about RE. does anyone know when it hits cinemas?

As I understand it, its only gonna be released on DVD - not in the cinemas. Its a CG movie and features Leon and Claire, and is set one year after Resident Evil 4 I believe. Its bound to be better than the live action movies.

no man acts perfect, but a CG movie where some japanese people make every single movement, it becomes perfect.

well, i must confess the japanese CG movies are really good in graphics, but i mind the plot... and i have seen some trailer on youtube. it looks very interesting and it really shows the time after spain... im excited about claire meeting leon again! i hope its a good plot. the graphics are kinda FF AC, as much as i know.

I cant understand something on Resident Evil 4 i am always alone never fight with claire together .. Just fight together with a man who wears covboy clothes .. I played it on PC .. ??? Can you fight together with claire on PS2 ??? or am i wrong ??
as far as i know in none of the RE4 pieces you are able to play claire. she isnt even mentioned. the only games you can play her are RE2 and CVX. and this cowboy you also cannot play is a former cop. dnt know his name at the moment.

Luis Sera is not an ex-cop, he is a scientist that was working on the Las Plagas. He was lying about the whole cop thing.
You do not hear of or meet Claire in RE4, Claire was mentioned in this topic because she is in the CG film, which happens to be based 1 year after the events of RE4...got it? Cool.
Anyways, i finally sat down to watch the trailer for this film...and i have to say that i am more impressed with this than i am with the entire live action trilogy as a whole. Not even a minute long and i already like it better than any live action Resi things ive seen (Romero TV advert, 3 movies) and i have to say it even looks better than 4D Executor (which itself was also better than the live action movies).
I have high hopes for this film. I am also interested in the idea that it may actually tie in with the games completely...so, essentially, the first non-playable Resident Evil entity that can be considered canon...

I think the Animation style will be just like Final Fantasy Advent Children. Just add the gore & some gothic feel to the environment and we got the Resident Evil Degenration. Well first two movies were ok the third one wasnt realy necessary to make. Well I liked the second Resident Evil movie lets see how they do it with the CGI:)

Of course they can go wrong. If the script is bad, or if the animators cant convey the script, then it doesnt work. If they then dont combine it with a decent soundtrack (music, decent voice acting etc) then if can go just as badly as any live action movie.
Just as a live action movie can be perfected.
Anyhow, Im looking foward to this, but no longer trust capcom so shall just wait and see.
Yep im really looking forward to this movie that are just those little things what makes Capcom different too other developers hehe still a little love ...

CGI...like Final Fantasy: Spirits Within and Final Fantasy: Advent Children.
This means that the characters can actually look like the characters from the games (rather than trying to find a reasonably similar looking actor), and they may possibly use the same voice actors.
It also means that you can have as many zombies, lickers, hunters, Tyrants, anything...as you want, and it can be set anywhere, and they can do anything they want with the locations.
A live action movie has more limitations with where it can be set, who you can use, and how many people or things you can have...

If by 3D you mean having to sit and watch with red and blue lensed glasses on, then no...or, i severely hope not.
However, if by 3D you mean not a 2D animation like a cartoon, but 3D like a game...then yes, ofcourse...because...well, thats been obvious since it was first hinted at. Even the Simpsons Movie wasnt 2D (though they tried to say it was, it was actually 3D Cell Shading). You will very rarely find a 2D movie anymore...
Im pretty sure that its gonna be great, if Mikami-Shinji is involed in this movie, its gonna be great or any of the producers from the games thats even better.
so this movie will be awesome in my prediction, the japanese have not let me down in games, or in the movies, like final fantasy spirits within and advent children.
so you must trust and respect the japanese, (they know the way of the samurai)

Do you guys think we will see degenaration before the release of RE5 or after?
As it seems to take place 3 years before RE5 it would be cool to see it before maybe as prelude to what to come in RE5 or atleast maybe an understanding to what to expect in RE5.
But that might also be a reason not to release it before or one migth get spoiled of what migth be going to happen in the game thus release it after RE5?

I think we will see it get released before or around the same time as RE5.
Didnt they already say it would be 2008 release for this? With RE5 coming in 2009, this is an obvious one :P
Must have missed the 2008 date but in that case it sound good something to excpet this year while waiting on the game RE5.
Hope it arrives here fast though or early import preorder.
Cus there was a quite long wait for example FF Adven Children in my part of the world.

Itll be a DVD release only in Europe and US, and for selected cinemas in Japan, as far as I know.

CGI movies of games are definately the best because they can relate to the game better and portray actual elements of the game in CG. Having real people running around with CG lickers ect looks silly if done crapy.
Final Fantasy 7 advent children was the sex :D o hopefully Degeneration will be too ;).
Is it meant to be a full length film like 1 and a half hr- 2 and a half hr and wen is it comin out

So Japanese business men and many other people can buy them and sniff them...or do any other such things with them. Mostly the sniffing thing though...
And i have to sit on the fence when it comes to Japanese artwork being the greatest ever. Sure, a lot of it is good...but it doesnt mean everything from Japan will look great. My sister isnt Japanese and can draw and paint a lot better than a lot of the crap ive seen coming out of Japan.
Yeah, Im really looking forward for this one. I mean a Resi movie WITHOUT that b*tch Alice playing suerber ninja all the time!

I think the whole super power thing could have been good, if only somebody better than Anderson had written the script and actually utilised it in the same sort of way that the enemies with super powers do in the RE games.
Krauser and Wesker are pretty much the same as Alice...they just pull it off better than she ever did.

Alexia Ashford. A virus gave her the power to create tenticles out of nowhere and make them go wherever she wanted, she could sense Weskers presence from another continent, she could create fire from nothing, etc, etc, etc.
Alice is the film version of Alexia, but as a good guy rather than bad.
Oh, and Alice burnt the crows using the flame from the flamethrower...so the flame didnt come out of nowhere, etc.
Alices powers are a natural progression of where the RE games are heading.

resident evil degeneration is looking pretty good.
If one seen the documentary it sounded on Takeuchi that we migth see what happened to some of the other survivors aswell and not only Leon and Claire just to fill in some of the 10year gap until RE5.
Sounds good as I also heard that RE5 would feat flashbacks aswell but if they tell a little bit of everyone in degeneration they could focus mainly on Chris and Sherry in RE5 and just have minor flashbacks there while Degeneration tells more?

S.T.A.R.S disbanded...that one is kind of obvious from the fact that most of the S.T.A.R.S members are dead.
Chris, Jill, Barry, Rebecca and Brad were the only known survivors. They were closed down, and replaced with a special unit of policemen...the guys in the S.W.A.T gear you see in the intro to RE3.
After the death of Brad and the destruction of Raccoon City, S.T.A.R.S officially are no-longer.
As for Rebecca, we know she survived the mansion incident, but we are never told if she escaped Raccoon City. Though, experience has taught us that we generally have to SEE a character die, or find their body, or be told about their death for them to be classed as dead...none of which has happened with Rebecca.
As most of you are probably aware the official Biohazard Degeneration (http://www.biohazardcg.com/)website is up, though its (obviously) in japanese. Might be worth checking every now and then though for updates.

Head to www.dictionary.com and you can find a free translator on there. Just copy and paste the japanese writing into the translator box and youll get a very poor but still fairly understandable translation of what they are saying.
It is clear that Degeneration takes part at least some point in an Airport, and that they appear to have finished making the film...they are now working on the sound and voice-acting...which is interesting.
Also, the 3 DVDs that appear on the diary appear to be 3 different versions...so they are still deciding on how long to make it, etc....
