I was actually very glad to see that Capcom decided to release Marvel vs Capcom onto the PS3 - an awesome choice and a game that was brought up by my brother as soon as he saw it available in the store and it certainly wasn't dissapointing but the one game that I am very eager to see is Capcom vs SNK 2. I absolutely loved the game on the Xbox, PS2 and even on the Dreamcast (I brought a seocnd hand dreamcast on ebay just for that game).

I think making it available in the same way as MvC with some improved graphics and online play would be excellent and certainly something I would love to see... the game is a classic and in my opinion is the best SF game available, even now. All I ask is that gameplay not be changed or altered (i.e. the specials are extremely fast whereas in SF4 specials could be seen coming from a mile away).

Surely there must be many others who also wish to see this classic game released on the PS3?

Amen to that brother! Capcom vs Snk 2 is one of the finest sf games if not the finest. Many times i have seen my friend cry like ababy when a dragon punch goes through his super!!! People moan about the fact the games "broken" saying that "collision detection" is off!!! WHATEVER this game is amazing i have to play the ps2 version on my ps3, or gamecube or dreamcast!!!!!:worthy:

Ah, it's good to see people agree. I'm also patiently waiting for any kind of news that they will release it on the PS3 or maybe even some kind of follow up. I've never come across any collision detection problems on the game personally but then every game has its flaws. SF4 had its fair share too as do every game I have ever played.

There was news on why they WOULDN'T do it.

Edit: Found the article,
which got info provided from Eventhubs, so I'm surprised to not have seen Zombebrian respond in here.

In the words of Lord Cutler Beckett (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cutler_Beckett), it's just good business. Or, as Capcom's Seth Killian explained on the Capcom-Unity forums (http://www.capcom-unity.com/ask_capcom/go/thread/view/7371/21107021/Capcom_Vs_Snk_2_on_PSN_Its_possible?post_id=363867 557#363867557), releasing a downloadable version of Capcom vs. SNK 2 could be bad business. In a lengthy response to a call for the game on PSN, Killian gave several reasons for not re-releasing Capcom vs. SNK 2; all of them centered squarely on business. Among other things, the audience for the game is less sizable than that of Street Fighter (http://joystiq.com/tag/street-fighter) and Marvel vs. Capcom 2 (http://joystiq.com/tag/marvel-vs-capcom-2), meaning a Capcom vs. SNK 2 port probably wouldn't be worth the money and resources Capcom would need to spend.

Killian noted that even if sales covered cost, placing developers on the project would mean removing them from others, like Super Street Fighter IV. Killian put it simply, saying, "When fan service becomes a black hole for time and money, that party gets ended pretty quick."

Another explanation, according to Killian, is that Capcom doesn't want to flood the market with fighting games. He suggested that most gamers only buy one or two fighting games a year -- thanks mainly to the amount of time it takes to master them. In other words, releasing too many games could dilute the sales of all of them. Besides, we all know that what Capcom should be working on is a new Darkstalkers (http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/07/capcom-doesnt-completely-dismiss-darkstalkers-remix-possibility/).
