Not the best, but I'm pretty impressed with myself. Considering I was expected an E in art and in the mock exams I got a D and I thought I'd done badly in the actual exam.
Not bad at all, well done you :)

Congratulations! :]
From what I remember, I think I only managed 6 A-C grades when I did my GCSE's. :P
Then again, I only took nine subjects so I was quite content, heh.
Exams are way too easy now, some you dont even need to revise to pass because theyre common sense!
i would be the opposite of you. i love art and science and i hate maths. (i am assuming you like maths since you did good in it). last math class i got a c! :D......

itsmyyard, I'm sure that doesn't apply to anyone. It's entirely subjective to the person's experience/s.
However, I got the whole common sense aspect when it came to subjects like Art and Graphics, along with English/English Literature. The rest, on the other hand, not so much. =D

Congrats Elite, you've got some excellent results.
It's been many years since I had to go and collect my results...
I warn you though...A Levels are so much harder. I failed my A Levels so badly, ended up doing a National Diploma instead :p

Aye TZM, I did a National Diploma course instead of an A Level course. Not that it really matters as a BTEC ND is equivalent to an A Level either way.
I did obtain an AS Level qualification beforehand though, but decided to go to College instead and get my qualifications that way, rather than sticking with 6th Form (which I would not recommend to ANYONE).

Yeah, I went to College the first time to do A Levels...basically failed because of stress and particular vices that dragged me down even further.
Quit halfway through my second year because I was doing really bad.
Sorted myself out, cleaned myself up, looked for a course that I actually liked the look of...and went and did that.
Ended up doing a Media production Course and getting a MMP, which I find hilarious...because MMP is the equivelent of a BBC in A Level...and it was a Media course...BBC...get it?
*sighs*

Funneh guyyyy. :P Haha.
I only managed an MPP at the end of my ND course, despite needing an MMP for the course I wanted to do at University. Luckily, I still got in. =D
*Posting here JUST to break the combo of UK flags only*
Haha, I'm glad that I have so many English people who already explained how the education system works in England, 'cause I'll stand by my point;
So many codes is just a pain in the behind for a foreigner to understand. xD
Congrats on your results Elite, from what I can gather they're good.
I'm surprised you're the only one so far that has posted his results though.
Is everyone else still knocked out from partying after getting theirs? Or maybe our funny forum friends are locked in the basements for reaching new depths on the scorecharts?
Thanks guys!
I actually expected more people to be collecting GCSE results today....
I've been told I'm insane for picking A level Psychology, but I really want to do it, so I'm gonna stick with it.
I don't hate art, it's just my coursework was lacking. I had all my own drawings and photos, but it's when it came around to critically analysing other artists, and explaing reasons and connections for what I'd done. I also didn't do my Year 11 final piece... although the exam went well.

As far as I know, Citizenship is testing your knowledge of the UK...how much you know of basic history, culture, law, society, etc, etc.
It's quite a new addition to the curriculum, as even I didn't have it when I was doing mine...
Congrats on the results EliteFreq.:)
But imo gcse exams have really been dumbed down.
My friend is a maths teacher and from what he and his colleagues say, gcse's are alot easier now than what they were.
I mean c'mon, each year we see results reach record levels (year on year rise), absolutely rubbish.
This has alot to do with schools having to reach target goals set by the goverment, and dumbing down of exams will only lead to a decline in our society.
It's no wonder buisness's nowadays prefer experience over exam results/academic qualifications, just look at the state of our education system.

I somewhat agree.
We've also seen an increase in intelligence over the years, so whilst exams are getting slightly easier...it's not specifically because of dumbing down.
Also, take into account that teachers/schools are now teaching people how to pass an exam, not how to know a subject.

Sweeeeet. So many As!
Citizenship is basically about the law, the community, things that effect the community, discrimination, work unions, things that you should generally know. You also have to do a community project and write about it as coursework.
Well done in the GCSE's, but be warned when you start your A-levels, just finished mine at 6th form and i only got 3 D's, luckily got into uni however but still its a hard road.
I think when i done my GCSE's i got like 1 A*, 6A's and a few B's, oh and a random D for spanish :p

Wow! Congrats on getting into Uni, but how?
I've picked psychology as one of my subjects in sixth form, I'm told it's hard but I'm ready for it. Not so much for everything else....
Wow! Congrats on getting into Uni, but how
To be honest im not sure lol I applied to do Chemistry with forensic chemistry for loughborough as my firm and northumbria as my insurance, got into northumbria but only probs because science isnt popular at all, so they try to fill up the courses.
If i didnt get in i would have went into clearing, and then i probs would have been accepted either way unless the course was full.

Well psychology i heard is just full of essays and is quite hard, a number of my friends done it. Mind you the exams dont seem incredibly difficult if you work hard enough as a lot of my friends came out with A's and B's and you wouldnt have thought it lol.
Have to say im not surprised i got D's when my subjects were Maths, Chemistry and PE :p

People these days don't realize how lucky they are to have all these sources to revise from internet etc. Back when I was in school there were no wikipedia and my rubbish school didn't give me correct help. So I failed my GCSEs.
But enough of that. Congrats Elite!:D

Congrats!! Those are some nice grades right there. I've heard Psychology is a fun subject and I find that if you enjoy a subject, you'll do well in it. :)
Prepare yourself and work hard for next year as it's a biiiiiig step from GCSE to A level; I didn't take that advice seriously and ended up completely failing my first year. Going to work hard this year so I can leave with decent grades. :D

Well done you lot. Some good grades I'm seeing.
Personally, I'm of the whole "Exams are getting easier" line in both ways. In other words, I was part of those taking easier exams but also those that say exams are also getting even easier. Maybe I'm just saying that? I should really ask my sister to see a GCSE Math paper to judge (since its my main point of study, ha!).
As some have already mentioned, A-Levels are rough. If you're plain lazy and are picking subjects like Math, you will more than likely will do poorly. Saying that, I'd definitely recommend doing it since it looks good for University applications. If you're even more confident go for Further Math. Looks even better and will be a major help if you plan to continue in University since you'll redo bits in university.
If you're wondering, yes, I did Math (with Computer Science) in university. Not easy and definitely requires time and patience.

I had to retake my Maths GCSE about 4 times before I got a C...
I fail at Maths, so badly.

Believe me i know haha i barely passed Maths at A-Level i think Further Maths was an impossibility for most people at my 6th form, teachers only recommended it if you got like A* and were in top set at GCSE lol
Actually looking back at my results i fails my core 3 and 4 exams, thank the lord for resits!
This is the problem though, GCSE's have become too easy to achieve A* - A grades in them that when these students go on to take A-Levels, they have an unrealistic attitude towards them thinking they are going to achieve the same results.
For most this isn't the case, and they become downhearted when they fail them.
Personally, I'm of the whole "Exams are getting easier" line in both ways.
I wouldn't say they're getting easier, but the stuff being taught is becoming easier, and a toning down of exams is needed. Maybe I just being cynical.
@WoodlandBunny: o.O I'll bare that in mind.
I intend to do my utmost best. :p

Getting those A* or A's is easier now because the grade boundaries get shifted, and sometimes by a big jump. I'm talking 50% for an A grade in the core subjects. Of course these don't help the students when they do poor in A-Levels. But those in the know are always right. Work on your studies for A-Level and you'll be fine. Slack off and you're more than likely to suffer.
Johans90: I remember finding C4 quite a bit of a jump from C3. Also hated C4 for being the last exam I had so I was a bit too lazy for it (both 1st and resit). In the end I still did alright once I put my mind to it. Now if it was P1-P3...which is how I originally started until they changed it all to Cores, whew!

i'm also happy because some other people like maths too (well, i just feel less lonely :D)
