While we were at the Gamescom Ben Le Rougetel invited us to see a behind closed doors with Lost Planet. And before I knew it I was actually playing the jungle level with me playing a random human without any team members I took on the level as brave as I could without getting me killed. Ofcoarse my lost planet experience helped me a dawrn lot with finding weapons and controls (picking up weapons is still something I need to get used to. By pres and hold Y you can pick things up). First thing I found myself doing was killing the flying akrid for some energy and grabbing the first datapost. I had a feeling things were a bit slower with the post going up but it dint bother me so much.

A bit deeper in the game the jungle got denser and there was much more trees lying around more to so you ighter needed to jump over them or crawl under them. While the conevtual acrids were trying to robe me from more energy I tried to stay up high in the trees but it dint work out so well. I did know thist that aming your grablinghook with a object in front of you was easyer now also the grenates dint hit anything anymore so it seems they have fixed that little problem.

It took me a while before I reached a opening in the forest to find my self face to face with the queen mantis who was trying to use my head as a base ball while swinging its legs to me. I was using all my experience here since it was pretty hard (like in the colonies edition multi player the mantis has learned to run but atleast it dint spit fire balls at me. Getting myself up high in a tree accompanied with my beloved gatling gun the queen mantis soon knew who was master. (ps every once in a while boxes would drop getting me more acuipment for later levels.

Lost Planet 2 never felt so big

This is where I stoped since I wanted to ask some questions about the game to to Ben Le Rougetel. (I gave the controller to the next person who managed to get him self killed in 20 seconds .) so I first asked ben about how the lobys would work and if we would see interactive lobys like we see in Monster Hunter 3 and did in PSU/PSO but he dint have any information about it now. So I asked if he knew if there was any change in the online connection system in terms of lag. He informed us it would be better but it is still a work in progress. So the next question was “what about a release date” he told us that he could not tell us more than it would be this winter but he did give us a clue: “the time period of the demo coming out and the game going on sale will be the same as that of the first lost planet” and if I recall that correctly (I need to check this later on or some one has to tell me) it took 3 monts before the game came out after the demo..This meens it would be set for November?! Now wouldn’t that be awesome?

Than Jun Takeuchi moved in and we had a realy short chat since we had to leave for another group of people. We did manage to shake hands talk about the game (nothing realy new) and made a picture.
