How do I get expand-pickaxes? Ive never seen one!? And, what do they do? I only want them for combos.

You tend to get expand pickaxes for the hard training quests (e.g. diablos, gravios) and they do pretty much what it says on the tin: expand stuff - i.e. if you combine it with lightcrystal, you may get 2 lightcrystals and so on...
