Tekken 6

Just thought Id let you guys know Trocadero now have Tekken 6. œ1 a go, 2 rounds. Personally, its not all that worth it unless youre either a)Good or b)Playing against CPU. I say this because matches last about a minute. Yes, total matches last about one minute.

I played it today. Lost miserably. It plays fine, just like before. It looks VERY nice (stages are gorgeous). Sound wise, from what I could hear, the effects were better. I couldnt really make out the music but it sounded decent and similar to 5 and DR.

I really would like to play a lot of T6 but for œ1 a go, I just cant bring myself to do it. Maybe when its less busy where I can get practice on my own against CPU but against so many others? Not really possible since matches finish so quickly. At least with single player youll have a number of stages to experiment on assuming you dont lose.

Ahhh wow, I didnt realise it was playable.

How does it compare to, say, Virtua Fighter 5? Does it push the PS3 to the limits, being a first party title and all.

Also, were the items available for use? Like how we saw Brian using the Shotgun as an item. What characters were available?

ah, I always love the Tekken series.. only the new characters, they look so lame. also I dont like the new characters in Tekken 5, but Lili was a great character in Tekken DR.
but, yeh.. I cant wait for this game.
also, Xiaoyu finally looks like a 17 years old.. she was just some young japanese girl in Tekken 3-4-5. and Xiaoyu is my favorite character.

Ive not played VF5 so I cant say. Ive been more of a Tekken person anyway though I do admire VF for being the best of the technical 3D fighters ever.

Apparantly the cards sold out so only a few people have them. I didnt see anyone with them so I havent seen any items with my own eyes. Maybe in a few weeks theyll start popping up from various players.

Looks wise the new characters may not look good but Zafina has a really interesting style. Leo looks alright in my opinion. Simple looking style. Not idea how good she is though. Azazel (final boss) is just....huge! Takes up the whole height of the screen and then some. Looks more like some monster from an FF game.

As far as pushing technical limits, no way. No way at all. Theres so much more that can be done. Theyve added in layered stages (falling from one stage to another) and thats just small in my opinion. In time I think we should see greater and grander things happening.

Ahhh, thanks for the impressions Kazama. So am I correct in assuming it looks nothing like the originall released Jin + Sweat trailer? Finally, did you get to see how Lily or Dragunov have progressed since their appearances in Dark Resurrection?

Looks nothing like that. It looks nice though. Maybe some other time in a few years but not right now. It looks tons better than the fairly bland preview shown after that sweaty Jin video (Jin, Hwoarang and Lili video).

Not sure how much Lili has changed. Never used her in DR and I only saw one guy use her. Same with Dragunov except I do use him (or did) but the one match I saw I didnt see anything new. Most people were just experimenting still. You could probably find stuff on YouTube from Japanese players though.

Everyone and their grandmother are payable....almost. But yes, hes there no doubt.

Played some more today. Not really sure what to add apart from the music was quite good and Miguel was an interesting character. Seemed pretty unsafe with a fair amount of posing going on in his style. Didnt know what was what with him so I didnt have the best of times but Ill give him a shot on a console release for sure.

Oh, and theyve upped the matches to 3 rounds (5 depending on how you view it, but 3 wins = victory, basically) and I THINK they changed the life settings, though Im not 100% sure on that.
