You can't connect a PSP 1000 to a TV, thats feature was only added to the 2000 and 3000 range.

Darn well thanks for the help anyway

What about just getting audio? would that work or would I have to link to speakers?

Not sure never tried it.

Your best of trading and upgrading if you want to use the TV with your PSP.

Although, to be perfectly honest, the resolution of PSP games on the TV is terrible.

Though if you were filming gaming footage on PSP, its better than using a video camera

As far as I am aware, the connection cable to the slim and lite model only allows you to view videos and UMD, not view actual gameplay footage.

As for the audio, any set of speakers will do since they all use the same input, it's also possible with the right stereo jack if you (jamer215) have surround sound with auxilary capabilities, its just a simple matter of hooking up the stereo-in cable to the port on the PSP, this'll work regardless of model. (You'll need a cable that looks like this: http://www.allproducts.com/manufacture97/baifuda/Product-2006616115739-2.jpg)

If not, you'll need a different jack which has red and white connector (the red and white things you connect to an adapter to make it in to a scart cable) on one end, and a stereo jack in the other (It looks like this: http://www.dv247.com/assets/products/64973_l.jpg), then its a simple matter of hooking up the speakers and the red and white connectors to the sound system/speakers accordingly.

Also, it wont work if you connect it to the headphones speaker on a TV, simply because its like trying to put information in a port that only gives information out.

There are two sets of cables, only the components cable allows the PSP to play games and UMDs on the TV, the other one only allows UMD playback.
