Sad news for future fighters, Phoenix is too powerful to be included according to Tatsunoko vs. Capcom producer Ryota Niitsuma.

Hardcore Phoenix Wright fans already knew the immense power of Phoenix's "Objection!" it's scientifically proven to be 2.5 times more powerful than a Falcon Punch and rumour has it 3/4 of the original Ace Attorney DS cartridge contains the code for Phoenix's legendary exclamation.
Is it because every move you throw at him he says objection and it comes right back. lol:D
Hehe, I have read this before somewhere I think. To much objection hate! :( I am glad they're trying to put him in a future game. :D
It's like that Chuck Norris fact... :D
So every attack he does will be Objection? I think they forgot about Hold it! and Take that!

I thought that.
To be honest, I think really they should've had him, but should've kept all his moves in the original japanese, and then maybe a more powerful version of the move, but this move is in english...

Am I the only one that thinks the idea of including Phoenix Wright is a bit stupid? He's just a lawyer.
lets face it! if you've been in a street fight you need a lawyer! lol

It's the fact that he's immensely popular.
I'm sure most people who've played a Phoenix Wright game, would want to fight using him. I know I would.

No denying the popularity but come on, he is just a lawyer and can't fight. It won't work.
Joke character dude.
Not intended to be an accurate depiction of a lawyer in unarmed combat, but a representation of power through either reputation or sheer intent, the joke being that his skill as a lawyer is equal to that of a fighter.

Joke character? Even Roll isn't as useless as Phoenix would be.
Well, yeah? why not?
It doesn't necessarily imply uselessness when a character is a non-combatant, it all depends how well made the character is, heck, there have been multiple characters that could have been strong fighters had the developers not broken them.
Phoenix as a character could(and probably would) be quite a good starter character for those new to Vs Capcom games. I don't see Capcom making him useless, he might not be the best, but he'd be a welcome addition.

I must be the only one that thinks that this is a bad idea. He does not have any form of combat training at all. He is just a layer. There would be no moves for him to use. He is weak, too weak. He would be the only character that could get beaten up by Dan Hibiki.
At least Roll is a robot and Jill is special forces (in a sense).
jill uses zombies in a lot of her attacks ¬_¬ thats more acceptable than a laywer fighting?
lets face it, in a fight, every1 here would loose, he may be an unarmed lawyer but he is ace! see what i did there?
He is just a layer.
Lol Layer.
You know he also has evidence so he could use a gun or a Edgeworth's knife.
Also Classic Megaman in Marvel VS Capcom was a big surprise as people would have expected him just to have a buster and that's it but look at him! He is at least a middle tier!
If you'd read the article, you'd know that he had 'Objection!' as one of his moves. So he would've had attacks...

That was his only move.
