As the title says, what are your impressions of Lost Planet 2?

I downloaded the demo this morning, and so far, I am on my 6th play-thru xD I think it is amazing! It has everything I loved about Lost Planet 1, and so much more! It looks amazing! And plays really well :3 And some of the new VS' are awesome!

It looks amazing for now.

shame it's only multi and not single player like the first LP demo, so i can't try it...

You can still play it alone? Just set up a game, with 3 private slots, and then just start the game without anyone being in it? Just means it is harder to take down the boss, but by no means impossible :]

You can just Press Start at the title screen and choose the third option "Single Player Game". That should put you into a private game all by yourself.

Really liking the demo, though one must wonder what the [?] boxes are....

It's a lovelly demo, best with 3 friends. Infact i'd go as far to say it's one of the best we've ever released.

there is a Giant Mech that 4 of you can get in in the far corener of the map and don't forget to attack the Salamander from the inside!

PSN was very bad in the early days but now it's not that far behind XBL to quite honnest. (though I do prefer XBL)

Microsoft are doing the same phasing out the Pro SKU like the did with the old Core system.

Instead of insulting consoles and their network just stick to the discusion at hand please which is the Lost Planet 2 Demo.

Thanks.

I has a question^^

Ok, the LP2 Demo was Co-Op... sooooo will this be the only Co-Op? I mean Resistance 2 had a Co-Op too, but just as "mission-based" as the LP2-Demo... Will there be a real campaign coop or just this crap?

4 can get on?!?! I found the mech, but only thought 3 could get on it? 1 in the main cockpit (the driver), then 1 either side, where does the 4th guy get on? :O Sounds awesome, need to try it out ^__^

Glad you like it :)

What do you like best? Do you think there has been a significant improvement compared to Lost Planet?

Hmm, what do I like best? Everything! But on a serious note, to be more constructive, I think the first thing that hits me is how stunning the game looks; visually it is amazing, and that really adds to the whole atmosphere of the game. I really appreciate the running feature, because now I no longer have to use my grapple to pull me along to facilitate fast movement. The ability to have people hanging on the side of VS' is really cool because it makes your assault on the boss that much more epic, rolling in with 3-man on the VS all shooting at the boss; and sometimes you can use it to save your friends, if you are quick enough, you can fly in, pick them up, fly out :3

I also feel the online works a lot better. Admittedly I haven't played versus mode, so I don't know how it will fair when there are 16 people in a match, however I do remember the old lost planet having some serious lag issues; admittedly if you played it enough (like I did), you just learn to live with them, then adapt your play style to account for lag issues, but so far, there has been none of that in my online playing, even when one person in our team was from America, and the rest from England. So if the online in campaign works the same in the online versus mode, then that is going to be even better.

I also really like how the bosses drop question mark boxes which you have to collect (and I asked Leo the other day, and he told me they are used to unlock items of clothing, and each specific boss has it's own clothing set; kinda like Monster Hunter xD), because this adds a little bit of competition among you and your friends while you are still fighting together to stay alive.

So in short, I like everything about this game, and am currently on about my 12th play thru of the demo, I play it every day and it still isn't getting boring. (But if you want to send me the whole game, I wont complain xP)

So true man. Lost Planet 2 is a great improvement. My friends and i have all agreed that the game looks great and the boss fights really feel epic. I think the team's done a great job with the idea that you can take down enemies in a variety of ways.

There have been a few things that made us think 'aww man' but very few...more like one or two lol. Personally it was the fact you cant have a team mate rush over with a VS gun and attach it for you instead of you leaving your VS. To me, its just something that would keep that feel of reliance on team mates.

However, thats like the smallest thing ever when you look at how good this game is. Fabulous work.

It'll be similar in style to COD co-op so you play the game together with friends or on your own.

The demo is just one tiny part of the game, and the Salamander will be part of the campaign.

Wow i dint react here? >.> well ... i love it! but i loved the jungle demo i was able to play the gamescom (see interview at http://www.nisute.com/2009/08/23/lost-planet-2-november-snow/) it was more stable and felt more complete.

i finally completed the download so today i played LP2 (after 11 day :D damn connection!)
anyway, if we don't look at those graphical bugs (in the monsters interior almost every time i can see "inside" the character without understanding anything, but it's not that bad since it's only a demo) it's a good game
visually it's very good, all those wet and shiny surfaces are really cool
controls are similar to the first LP, but i think that changing weapons is now faster and easier to do
the demo itself is quite repetitice because you have to do some actions over and over to kill the monster, but it's hard enough to be fun
the AI is awful, really....i saw them in the beginning and then nothing, sometimes i see them running in circle under some rocks or trying to run into a wall, but i don't play online, so the co-op experience with other thinking human beings should be more entertaining
the gameplay is frantic and you always have to run, aim, shoot, grab weapons, use the energizer really fast, so if this is the spirit of the complete game, LP2 will surely be fun to play

Played this the other day. Really didn't like the first one to be honest but with nothing else to do I tried the demo. Still not the kind of game for me but oh well hope the fans enjoy this game

I hear that's one of the smaller 'bosses'.

i like the fact that you get certain things pop up on the screen for the way you play. like when i fought the salamander I grappled onto its back and got some thing about up close and personnel come up on the screen, also when you take out the legs it tells you how many you've destroyed. Im hoping theres some achievements tied to these

Also I really liked the whole level in the PS3 demo, plays alot like the first game. the fact that theres no snow was very cool too. As much as I like the first game it was either snow or corridors

And finally, I LOVE RUNNING!!!! one thing I didnt like about the first one is just having to walk everywhere if you can't find a VS

I wonder if Wayne will appear in this game somewhere.....
